This is another different build that I might take to the Store Championship next month. I decided to try something new from my Fat Chirpy build. If this build is not strong enough, then I would just stick to my other build. Here's my list

This is my first time using Soontir Fel. Many of my friends says he is good, so I decided to give it a shot. Basically my Decimator will go head on and trying to destroy as many ships as possible and then letting Soontir Fel to clean it up. The meta in my area is mostly Rebels, there are a few TIE swarm and Deci+Phantom build here and there.

Any advice and suggestions about my list will be great. Thanks and appreciate it. Cheers

Not a big fan of stealth device. Especially when there's only one other target and it's loaded with a Rebel captive. I think another Hull point would do better for Fel. I'd consider dropping the targeting computer on Fel for the Dauntless title.

The real question is, why do you want to pair Soontir with Chirpy - what do you expect him to do?

Not that it is a bad matchup, but you need to build him to help cover your Decimator's weaknesses.

Well, just thought of trying something new for a change. I can always go back to my Chirpy+Whisper build which did well at my last SC

I think if you are going to run Deci + Soontir, I would not change that setup, except to consider Hull Upgrade over Stealth Device, but on Soontir that is really up in the air, I've seen SD win games, and seen it pop ASAP. Those upgrades on the Deci are pretty much perfect, no real room for improvement, especially in the current meta.

The real perk of changing to Soontir instead of Whisper is you get to field the hyper accurate Rear Admiral. The Whisper version with those upgrades on the Deci requires you run Oicunn (assuming VI, ACD, FCS on Whisper).

Also, Soontir certainly has some perks against things like the PS war, since you still get max agility (and possibly more tokens) even if your opponent fields a PS 9+ ship, especially a turret. Also, Soontir is not nearly as weak to Rebel Captive, which is a nice perk.

Heck, you're really just downgrading firepower from Whisper to Soontir, then upgrading firepower from Oicunn to Rear Admiral. I think I like the idea.

Many players have also advised me to remove Predator for VI on Chirpy and SD for HU on Soontir, I do not see that VI is a must have. The only way if I wanna make those changes is to practice with the current meta, but I guess I will stick with this build for now, if everything did not go my way, at least I've got a backup plan.

Now, my main concern is, can this list handle swarm?. I know with the EU, I can just boost away from being boxed in like what happen to me in my previous SC.

An interceptor with PTL is pretty decent. I too would swap out SD for HU. I don't see the value of SD.

The SC I went to last weekend was won by a Chirpy/Carnor build. Had no problem with a swarm of 8 Z95's either.
