  • No casual play on Jan. 15th due to a Magic event in the store.
  • Jan. 29th and onward should be regular casual play sundays.
  • Expect another casual tournament event every month on the 3rd Sunday of the month, starting in February - ideas and requests for formats are welcome!
Tournament details copied from Facebook:

Phoenix Comics and Games invites you to our first X-Wing tournament of 2017 on Jan. 22nd at 1 P.M.

In honor of the new year, 2017, we're increasing the squad point limit for this tournament by 17 points! Your squad must be 117 points or less, and must still meet all the normal rules of squad building for standard tournament play. Round times will be extended to 80 minutes instead of the usual 75 to account for the larger squads.

This is a "Relaxed" tier tournament. New and casual players are encouraged to attend! The non-standard formats we play at Phoenix are a great chance to explore experimental builds as well.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 8 players from the Q1 2017 prize kits - a Ketsu Onyo alt-art card OR two acrylic Tractor Beam tokens each - as well as store credit to top players depending on number of entries. Alt-art Swarm Tactics cards will be given to all players as a participation prize.

$5 Entry fee
16 players maximum
3 or 4 rounds of Swiss depending on player count
No cut to elimination rounds

List update for y'all. AFK Tavern in Everett has moved their X-Wing night to Wednesdays, starting at 6pm. Regularly have four players, frequently running HotAC right now.

X-wing Regional Championships in SEATTLE, WA this weekend!

Anyone carpooling?

I'm in Woodinville (20-30 min away) and I just need a pickup for Sat morning.

With the advent of the calendar, I'm thinking that I'll not maintain this list quite so much. Thoughts?

(Yeah, this is just a bump, but I'm trying to figure ways of keeping this visible and useful for new players as well as players who still aren't connected to Evergreen Squadron)

Cut and paste from my events document. I don't see any of these on the calendar yet.

Also, Around The Table X-Wing night is thursdays, from 6-10pm. We just started a new league this week. Nick adds achievements to score extra league points.

Join a new X-Wing league at Zulu's Boardgame Cafe in Bothell. We'll meet weekly on Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. starting on 3/14/17. Standard league faire, plus Zulu's will pitch in some extra swag each week.

Novice and veteran pilots welcome.

Around the Table has added a second time for X-Wing! They now also run it on Monday afternoons. I want to say it starts at noon?

I've added Zulu's league night and updated the calendar image, but a lot of the information of the first post is slipping out of date. I'm not going to go out of my way to update it, though if you post here, I'll do my best to add it.

Two tourneys this weekend. I plan to hit both, if I can.

GameMatrix (off 84th in South Tacoma Way) xwing casual night is every Friday from 6:30 PM until midnight (sometimes later if a game is going long).

TeraCrux (Downtown Tacoma) xwing casual is on Thursday nights from 6pm until they close at 10pm.

Those are the two I hand out at. Both have good followings. There are others... look on the very first page of this thread and scroll to South Sound (South King-Pierce-Thurston Counties)

Thanks. I didnt know about teracrux. That seems to be the only place i can participate at. I saw a place called uncles at the tacoma mall. They play on Sundays. I will go this week and report my findings.

The game matrix is the best.

Uncle's in Tacoma Mall is difficult (for me) to attend for casual play because I'm not comfortable with bringing my rather huge collection of stuff with me knowing I'm playing in the public mall area. So I'll play in tournaments there where I have just a 100pt squad with me, but on casual nights I like to bring quite a bit of my collection with me. There simply too many passersby from the general public around the play area for me. The staff at Uncle's Games in the Tacoma Mall are good and the store has a good stock of xwing stuff.

TeraCruz also has good stock and lots of room to play and their xwing regulars are fun and laid back.

My "home" is Game Matrix and though they tend to stock weakly (especially during new releases) they have a great bench of regular players and lots of room... and casual night can go into the wee hours of the morning as long as the host is willing to stick around (and they usually stay way into 1 or 2am).

Phoenix Comics and Games is hosting a Hanger Bay tournament on August 20th at Noon. $10 entry fee, Q2 and Q3 kit prizes, plus more to be announced. More details coming soon!

Double the squads, double the prizes! Phoenix Comics and Games invites you to our "Double Summer" Hangar Bay tournament: https://www.facebook.com/events/161574014414179

Details copied from the FB post for those who don't use FB:

Phoenix Comics and Games invites you to join us for a Hangar-Bay tournament for Star Wars X-Wing! Our "Double Summer" event features double the squads and double the prizes! Show up with 2 different faction squads of 100 points each. Before each round, you and your opponent will look over each squad, then secretly decide which squad you want to fly that round.

Tournament starts PROMPTLY at 12, so please ARRIVE EARLY and BRING PRE-PRINTED SQUAD LISTS if at all possible. ( https:// geordanr.github.io/xwing/ is good for making printable squad lists).

EVERY PLAYER will get two alt-art upgrades for participating plus at least one pick from our prize pool! PRIZES include FFG Quarter 2 and 3 tournament kits (Tactician , Crack Shot, Focus Tokens, Evade Tokens, Ello Asty, Omega Leader), additional fan-made cards from artist Paul La Rue, Epic tokens from Curled Paw Creatives, and ship painting and magnetizing services from our head TO, Daniel Hebert (that's me).

Other details:

* $10 entry fee (Preregistration will be available on http://phoenixseattle.com/ starting August 7th)
* 16 players maximum
* 3 or 4 rounds of Swiss (depending on attendance), no elimination cut
* There will probably not be a meal break due to time constraints, but Phoenix Comics does sell drinks and snsacks. ****'s Burgers is next door for quick between-rounds food, and other options are nearby.
* Store credit prizes for top players depend on sufficient attendance.
* Hangar Bay format - bring two fully legal 100 point squads, each of a different faction. Both squads must use the same damage deck and set of 3 obstacles. Unique pilots and upgrades are considered unique across both squads (e.g. you can't field Sabine Wren in both of your squads, even if they're different forms of her). Each tournament round, you will get a chance to see your opponent's two lists. Then, each player will secretly choose which of their own lists to fly that round and reveal their choices simultaneously.
Phoenix Comics and Games is holding our next tournament - "Nothing Special" on Sept. 17th at Noon! Your squad must contain no Unique pilots, no Unique upgrades, and no duplicates of ANYTHING. What kind of crazy mismatched generic squad will YOU invent?
"When everyone's super, no one will be."
Details copied from FB:
Join us at Phoenix Comics for our September tournament - "Nothing Special"! What kind of squadron will you field when you can only use mismatched generic pilots?

Rules for this unusual casual format:

* 100 squad points
* All Unique pilots and upgrade cards are banned. That means any card with a dot next to the name, whether that's Wedge Antilles, Mara Jade, or Experimental Interface, is illegal for this tournament.
* No ship, pilot, or upgrade may be repeated in your squad. For example, if you bring a Blue Squadron Pilot with Advanced Sensors and Ion Cannon, you can't include any other B-Wings, and you can't include any other ships with Advanced Sensors or Ion Cannon in your squad.

Other tournament info:

* Store opens at 11 so people can set up early. Tournment starts promptly at NOON
* $10 entry fee
* Q2 and Q3 kit prizes, plus more depending on number of players
* 3 or 4 rounds of swiss depending on number of players, no elimination cut
* 16 players maximum
* Guns for Hire content is not legal for this tournament unless it gets a wide release before Sept. 17th.
