Seattle/Puget Sound/Western Washington Organized Play Master List

Sorry if this has posted...but I found this:

Tomorrow morning! Aug 8th 2015

X-wing Tournament at Dragonflight 36 in Bellevue, WA.

Sponsored by Games and Gizmos=Sweet Prizes!

$20 at the door gets you in for the tournament and entry to the convention for the day.

I haven't figured out a way to troll for events not sponsored by a store (I just open up all of their facebook pages and website calendars every other week or so).

In the future, I can put those events in the big list, though I'm not sure whether I'd put them in the geographical sections or at the top- I'm not really sure how people use this page, actually.

I'm not sure how I use this page either. :)

I would have gone to the Dragonflight tourney if I'd had more advance notice. I'm just now starting to look outside my local gaming place (Round the Table) for more tournaments and events. I may not want to drive to a weekly, but a tourney once or twice a month for a change of opponents would be nice.

One of the things I've worried about is how different groups promote their groups in different places. My own group/store is having an event, but unless you are in our club's closed FB group, it doesn't really get mentioned elsewhere. I'm sure that there are other small tournaments all the time that just wind up being the same regular players as the weekly game night. There are the two regional Facebook groups, and some events get posted there, but I'm sure there are more events than those.

I guess the moral is to get your FLGS's to promote their events here or on Facebook, and to keep their store calendars and FB pages up to date (which many of them are very bad at doing). I almost always buy something at stores I go to a tournament at, so it's in their interest to do so.

As regards events that aren't promoted by a store, it's hard to find out about them, unless one of the organizers (or just an interested and energetic participant) tells the world about it.

Looks like Gabi's comics is also gonna have an escalation tournament on 8-15.

Hey Canada/NW Washington! I heard that there will be a tournament this Saturday at Cosmic Comics on Cornwall St. in Bellingham, WA. $5 buy in (or was it $10? can't remember). Great prizes. Standard 100 point play. Ethan is our TO.

So I don't know where else to post this but I lost my bag with my Imperial baseplates in it at Card Kingdom today. One of my opponents was a guy named Andrew who left before me, and I was wondering if he had it. Or if anyone else had seen them.

Hey NW Washington and BC!

The Comics Place in Bellingham is hosting a tournament on Saturday, September 26, at noon. 100 point lists.

(221 W Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225)

Prizes come from the Sprint Tournament Kit. There's a $5 entry fee, so there will be a miniature prize for first place.

Bring your best list with the new Wave 7 / Core 2 ships!

Been a while since I've updated.

Added events in Marysville, Bellingham, Port Angeles, Everett, Ballard and Tacoma.

Do keep posting events here, as many stores are very bad at publicizing their events- The one at the Comics Place isn't on their pages in any way (and since that store wasn't on the list, I hadn't even been trolling their pages to see potential events- Ziusdra just did them a big favor by mentioning their event).

Just a small correction: X-Wing night @Terracrux Games in Tacoma starts at 6pm on Thursdays, not 4pm. We are in the middle of a league right now, feel free to join up!

Store tournament results for Card Kingdom's tournament today. Had a decent showing, I had a lot of fun.

I think if I learned anything it's that two TLT lists are simply not enough damage to deal with more direct attack oriented squads. Y-wings and K-wings fold hard under the kind of pressure that the top 4 all put out.

1st:

Darth Vader: VI, Tie/x1, ATC

Deathrain: Adv. Sensors, Proximity mines, cluster mines, EM

Omnicron Group: Palpatine, Ion projectors

2nd (me!):

Darth Vader: Determination, Tie/X1, ATC

Maarek Stele: VI, Tie/x1, ATC

Redline: FCS, EM, Cluster missiles, proton torpedoes

Top 4:

Trandoshan Slaver: K4 Security, Outlaw Tech

Trandoshan Slaver: K4 Security, Outlaw Tech

Trandoshan Slaver: K4 Security

Top 4:

Dash Rendar: VI, Navigator, HLC, Outrider

Blue Squadron: E2, Intel Agent

Blue Squadron

Added tournament in Issaquah on Sunday

Seattle, Washington Area-

Eastside X-wing Players and Star Wars gamers:

I have a meeting room reserved for next Friday 10/30 afternoon (1pm-5:30) at the Kirkland downtown library branch for the purpose of teaching new players the rules and for seasoned players to pick up a game. This event is in a quiet semi-private room, so there is no distractions from screaming kids, drunk people or players of other games that give dirty looks. :)

So far my newbies have cancelled but I'm hopeful to get at least one other player to show up. Nothing is needed, I have enough stuff to have 2 seperate simultaenous matches.

Message me for more details or check out my FB page: http://www.facebook.com/xwingsandthings

I will post an Event page tonight.

Played at Games & Gizmos Monday night. There were 4 of us there that night, they said they usually get more like 8.

I posted on Mox Boarding House's page regarding X-Wing groups. Someone said they're not doing the Wednesday night group anymore because D&D is really big that night.

YAY! I needed this list like woah! I don't get my schedule for the next week until Fridays, and this makes scheduling games super tough. Now I can just pack my squadrons and drop in wherever I have a convenient day!

I'd appreciate you posting any new info you find out about there.

I played at Heroic Knight Games Tuesday night. Including my friend and me, there were 6-7 players. The store is smaller but has a lot of table space. It's quiet and chill compared to Card Kingdom (below). The owner is super-friendly and brought table toppers out for us when we wanted to play. X-Wing players there said they like the atmosphere at this store the best out of all the places in Seattle/Eastside. Owner will stay open toward 11pm if there's people still playing. We finished our last game ~10:20 that night.

I played at Card Kingdom Thursday night. There were 12+ people over the course of the night, 4 were still playing when I left after 11pm. The store closes at midnight, and they'll play games up to closing pretty much every time. Players there said it's easily the largest X-Wing play night in the area. Card Kingdom has an attached cafe as well.

Everyone I mentioned it to agreed Mox Boarding House doesn't have any regular X-Wing play going on that they know of.

Does anyone here play at Blind Dragon in Kent? I was there this past Friday and did not see any other XWing players.

So I'd like to add a new layer of information to this page: The number of players typically present at each game night.

Let me know how many people are usually at the stores you go to for X-wing!

Avalon Comics: 5-8 on Saturdays, 3-5 on Mondays

Game Matrix: ~8

Card Kingdom: 12+

Heroic Knight:6-7

Games and Gizmos: 4-8

Others?

Phoenix Comics and Games on Capitol Hill meets on Sundays. There's usually 3-5 people there, sometimes a few more sometimes less.

I'm slowly updating the information, and trying to eliminate obsolete entries. Of note is a tournament on Black Friday at MuGu GameShire in Everett.

Can I ask how you know about this tournament Earthworm? I'm looking on their FB page and website and don't see anything.

I know about it because I apparently made it up. The tournament is actually at the Game Shire. Oops.
