Local Tourney List #1

By PurpleReign, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey all,

I have a local tourney coming up in April, but wanted to start the weeding out process of lists now, so I have plenty of time to get a good one built. I am not too concerned with the local meta since we are a small community in Northern Michigan and I don't think too many of the players will be super hip on the current tournament scene. I on the other hand have been very in tune with all the larger tourneys and have noted all the best builds. However I have decided to deviate from those popular lists and build a few squads that I think would be fun to run as well as competative. I am hoping this community (and subsequent playtests) will help me settle on a list for the afore mentioned event.

Imperial List #1

This is a list I am hoping to playtest this Sunday with some local chaps.

Echo

~Predator

~Intel Agent

~Advanced Cloaking Device

Shadow Squadron Pilot

~Advanced Cloaking Device

Shadow Squadron Pilot

~Advanced Cloaking Device

This is the first of a few lists I will be posting as I playtest them. Let me know what you think. And if you happen to be in Northern Michigan the weekend of April 11th sign up and join us.

See TC War Room for more details!

I'm originally from TC and come up to visit my parents a few times a year. When do you guys play regularly?

Echo is fun, if you can fully utilize his 2 bank instead of straight template. However, your choice of the Intel Agent is probably not the best choice. I would recommend either the Recon Specialist OR Rebel Captive OR Gunner. The problem is that with a PS of 6 far to many Rebels can move after you AND kill you in 1 turn. A decent Han/Corran player has no problem doing 4 damage against 2 defense. Same is absolutely true with the Shadow Squadron pilots.

If you are going to run a good Phantom you go with Whisper and for 44 points you get:

Whisper

~Gunner

~Fire Control System

~Veteran Insticts

~Advanced Cloaking Device

That leaves plenty for a couple of other ships.

If you insist on using Echo and/or the Shadow pilots you need to give them the biggest chance to survive against higher PS ships. Also, there isn't much of a difference between a Sigma and a Shadow, so go with the Sigma and save a couple of points. What the ship below does is not only allow you to see the dial of a ship before any movement, AND allows you to move first as well - to get into position first and mess with an opponent. Also it adds a MUCH needed evade token against higher PS

Sigma Squadron Pilot (29) Total

~Intelligence Agent

~Enhanced Scopes

~Stygium Particle-Accelerator

So, forget Whisper and go with 3x of the above ship and have enough left over for an Obsidian TIE.

Or, if you INSIST on a "Named" Phantom, used the above upgrades with a Sigma, Echo, AND Whisper for 99pts.
