West coast port issues update
Do we know for sure that the FFG shipments even come via the West Coast ports? I assume it's a quicker trip, but then again, that assumes where the printers really are and where they actually leave from. Unless the East Coast is also on strike and such, then it doesn't matter. ![]()
Which is par for course for ALL of FFG's games. Seriously, the LCG gets hit with worse delays than this game has been the past year.
Ah yes, "The Dark Times".
Which isn't over yet. At least two months between Between the Shadows and the start of the next cycle. Which could end up being much longer...

It doesn't really matter where the printers are in China, although my understanding is that the country is most heavily industrialized in the east and particularly the southeast--because from wherever the minis are manufactured, they're headed for the established shipping lines between China and the east (d'oh!) west coast of the US.
Any other option is pretty unpalatable. Either you ship them west across China and either Kazakhstan and Russia or Afghanistan and Iran, or you still send them to boats on China's coast but then you sail through the Panama Canal (which isn't cheap) and through the Caribbean to the east coast, which I don't think is actually as much of a trip as putting them on a Russian train would be, but still requires a lot of extra diesel fuel.

I derped for a moment. Established shipping lines run between China and ports in California, Washington, or (I guess?) Oregon, although as far as I know Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Seattle/Tacoma are the biggest shipping destinations.
They should ship them to Canada and move them by rail and semi from there. I'm sure Canadians would love to pick up the lazy American port workers' slack.
Well it is all worth the wait, so we'll wait...

I remember a few years back when Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) workers went on strike. Management kept talking about how much money BART workers made, and BART workers kept insisting that wasn't really the issue- they wanted the job to be a lot _safer_. The strike dragged on for weeks, disrupting Bay Area transit patterns and making people's lives unpleasant. The whole time, BART management was saying how much money BART workers were making. And- management implied- how dare those workers go on strike when they made so much money. Eventually, BART management tried to run the trains themselves. A BART manager died while learning how to drive a train.
The strike ended within a day or two of that. Turns out the job is dangerous, and the workers' demands for safer working conditions were actually well founded. Turns out that throwing money at people to do a job you refuse to make safer for them is something people will revolt over. Who knew?
I'm not actually sure how good/bad/indifferent the demands of the dock workers are. But when management starts banging on about how much money they're paying, and Labor says that this isn't the issue... I tend to think that Labor isn't just being obstinate or lazy- I tend to think they actually know something I don't about their jobs. And that leads me to think maybe there's justice to their claims.
I am hoping that they can come to a deal soon. This Strike has gone on long enough and Both sides need to realize they need to give some.
Right so they go to the East Coast?...So why do we care about the West Coast issues?
Because even if these came into the east coast (which they don't) traffic is more likely to be routed your direction...leading to increased congestion and longer wait times...

Like islamic calligraphy? Cause I can't make head nor tail of that.
So how long was wave 5 on the boat?
I do believe it is time to bring back the ultimate transport solution...Zeppelin airship , no more ports and canal fees...Just the import tax... No need for huge bulky shipping containers...Streamlining the air operation with keeping a steady supply to hungry Ewoks everywhere...
Well I am home and...
Unsurprisingly I cant seem to attach the press releases to this post...anyone have a way for me to get these out to you guys?

Fixed that for you. ![]()
what death to unicorns?
Death to all
Unionsrentiers
In this case, the term conveniently covers both the union and the terminal operators.
I don't wish them dead, of course. I just want them to sit down together, arrive at a compromise position with which everyone's equally unhappy, and get a new contract signed so I can have my freaking plastic toys already.
Death to the Union! er Death to all Unions
All American unions I think you mean? The unions in my country aren't behaving as, what it looks like from over here, semi-organized crime. That is at least the image they have. Unions here are much more focused on getting the best for the workers without destroying the companies they work for.

Google docs and a link.
Death to the Union! er Death to all Unions
You may not see the benifits they have done for us but you enjoy it every day.
So remember it takes two sides for a strike to be resolved, the Unions are not the Bad Guys, their just Fox New's Scapegoat.

So they must be Muslim too then I take it lol?
Ya know... the more I think about it, the whole union dock fiasco and it's affect on the miniature gaming world would make a great plot for a Big Bang Theory episode...
Or a hilarious road trip adventure movie about a few nerds just looking to get the next expansions of their favorite games. Massive cliches ensue.
Fanboys 2; I'm in, now we just need someone on the west coast with a seafaring vessel and a background in piracy
How about a background in anti-piracy operations? ![]()
