Talking about great looking templates....
IP infringement much?
Greenman Designs has actually been making tokens and templates for X-Wing for a while. I'd been looking at their page, considering making some purchases (also considering just waiting and getting them in person at the NOVA Open).
I traveled to a small tournament in Southern Indiana a few weeks ago, if for no other reason than to simply play somewhere new that I hadn't been to before.
8 players total; 7 locals and me. All of them had Greenman Designs templates.
They were epic.
I ordered a mirror set when I got back home that night.
Im definitely watching this. I ordered a set of templates from the Acrylic Hotness thead, but may strongly consider a second set from here and almost definitely a range ruler and the asteroids, if that goal is reached.
I'm actually interested in the magnetized movement dials (listed as add-ons, $5 each).
Too bad they are not featured more in depth, and they don't seem to have them on the store webpage...
If I didn't already have acrylic templates and tokens, I'd definitely buy some of these!
Kickstarted!
If this gets off the ground at all there may be licensing issues, what Hexis was alluding to, with the use of Trademark/Copyright images. It could all fly under the radar, not going to hurt you or I, but it wouldn't be fun for a business owner to receive a Cease and Desist. Bad for business...
Otherwise they look flashy and they have some nice ideas.

How have I not seen this before?!

There have been other kickstarters that sell X-wing / attack wing accessories with no issues...stop being so negative ![]()
I guess I got reported for this so:
I just want to clarify...these are not my product...i make no money if you buy them.
I just think they are a great product that players would like to know about.
I want the acrylic dials but at $4 each, I'd have to spend over $200 for the ships I currently have. I wish these could be mass produced to maybe cut the price in half. Maybe I should get just the TIE fighter dials since those are wearing.
Audio Weasel - at NOVA, he's planning last I heard to have a portable indoor safe laser to customize whatever you want on-site.

oooOOOOOOOooooooooo hmmmmmm. I'll probably still do the KS, but I might have to get a few things from him there too. Wait.....what's that sound....... could it be my bank account quietly weeping?

I think I'm going to pledge $1 so I can ask the guy to explain the dials more in depth and then see where that leaves me...

He's had several people asking about them already. I think he's trying to put together a video for it.
Looks neat. I haven't picked up any fancy templates or tokens yet (since I got double Core right off the bat, I felt pretty safe with those), and those Kickstarter prices aren't too bad. I'll keep an eye on it, at least, and maybe see if any of my local buddies might wanna go in half-and-half on some of those larger lots/add-ons. Could be cool.
I can't help but feel like there's some weird IP infringement stuff going on, though. It feels strange to me that someone can do this as a personal business without any licensing, but if it's legit, it's legit, I guess.

Will wait for dials update then.
On the bright side, because the Kickstarter has 28 days to go...I can wait and see if I get anything cool from my Store Championship, before I decide how much I want to pledge. ![]()
Also, FWIW, I messaged the guy earlier to ask a question about pledge levels, and he replied right away. Having run my own Kickstarter, it's a lot to handle -- so good on him for a fast response time, to interact with someone who hadn't even pledged yet. I know different folks will grant it different weight, but it made me like him a little more.

Will need to keep my eye on this Kickstarter
I like to bid small at first and then add money to my pledge...that way I can get updates from the start, but I am not selling my kidney to kickstart something.
For me at least, it was best to back at the Mandalorian Level and add on tokens/no-slips/etc. For the same price as the Emperor level, I ended up with about 5 more of each token and 2 more non-slip inserts. I lost out on Target Locks (don't like the look of theirs), movement dials (what am I going to do with just 2 dials anyways?), and a firing arc set (I have a laser, there are only 2, and they look like they would be a hassle).
I wish the distribution on the tokens was a little better. I don't need 1 crit/stress token for every focus/shield token. I wish it was more like a ratio of 5 focus/shield to 3 evade to 2 ion/crit/stress, and frankly I wish they'd just made the epic stuff separate entirely.
That kickstarter is quite ambitious. I don't know if it'll hit the $10K mark given most people already have acrylic templates and tokens.
My mirrored Empire template set arrived from Greenman today.
