Im excited for wave 6. It's going to give tons of more viable options to the game. The only thing I have about it's Soon release is will it immediately be allowed In store championships. I'm all for new meta but I wish the meta wasn't being defined during competition. Is there any chance they wouldn't allow wave 6 in competitive play until regionals?
Will s&v immediately be legal for store championships?
I think I heard one of the designers say (either Alex or Frank) on an interview on a podcast/video that once its out, it is automatically viable on the meta.
Well they better be! I didnt wait this long to be told that it cant be used during regionals.

I hope they do allow it as soon as it is out.
I want all those players bringing a turret to suffer the Wrath of Fel himself (not the other guy that suffers it everytime the Saber Squadron meet-up, hence getting the nickname Fel's Wrath... what a jackass...).
I want to say they did this for one of the earlier releases but I think it was around late regionals. (I think)
It would be nice for an faq to be released before questions arose during competitive play. Like does ig-2000 go away when the ship is detrpyed. (And not to turn this into a rules discussion. Just an example of something we need an official ruling on or else the rules are going to change from store to store that you play at. )

If it's not legal, it'll show up on the restricted list in the tournament rules. If there's no update to the tournament rules in the next couple of weeks, S&V will be immediately legal.

I agree that it would be nice to see a faq update before S&V is released, but that particular question baffles me. Of course you lose access to a other IG-88 pilot abilities when those ships are destroyed. If I run one IG-2000 in my list it doesn't gain access to the other three ships I'm not running; destroyed ships are no longer in play, and ships in play can't "see" destroyed ships.
All releases are tournament legal the second they come out.
Some people argue that gencon early sales should count as "coming out" but once they hit shelves, they're legal.
I've heard directly from FGG and it will be legal immediately upon release and MUST be used by any store for their tournament. Here is the exact email.

A small nitpick...
The store must allow it, but that doesn't mean anyone must use it. The way you said that it sounds like FFG is saying people have to fly a S&V list. ![]()
You should still check with your TO, I know when wave 4 came out there wasn't enough stock to all of the stores in the area that not all players had a chance to get the ships, even with preorders. So they all agreed that wave 4 wouldn't be legal for that round of tournies

Well based on that email, the TO doesn't really have a choice in the matter. So if someone brings a S&V list they have to be allowed to play it, regardless of the stock levels.
Correct...the TO can't ban cards that FFG has deemed legal.
Sure they can, as we have seen from many people's complaints about TOs doing on these forums FFG really doesn't care what TOs do. They keep sending them the kits, and emails to them won't stop it.

Tintip,
The reason I have that email is because a store didn't want to use scum if it was released the same week. If a store banned scum then they could be reported.
That still doesn't change the fact that reporting a store means nothing to FFG, they continue to sell the stores kits. And if the TO tells you, you can't use S&V even if FFG says they're legal how exactly are you going to play with them?
Oh how I wish it was out in time and legal...I have a great scum build on vassal I've been doing well with and really really want to use it at my upcoming SC's. I guess I'll have to save it for regionals.
