Can someone please explain to me when the reward on the Agenda mission card is given? If the rebels decide to play this mission, is the reward listed on the card given at the end only if the empire wins or is it given automatically even if the rebels win?

Usually you get the reward if:

1) the players choose another side mission instead of your agenda mission (automatic reward for no hassle!)

2) you win the agenda mission

To further expand on what our friend Krankenstein was saying, when you make the agenda mission available, if the rebels choose not to partake that mission at their next legal side mission phase, you discard the agenda mission and you automatically gain the reward listed.

If the Rebels choose to play the agenda mission and the Imperials win that mission, then you win the reward(s) listed on that agenda card in addition to any rewards listed in the mission itself. If the Rebels win the mission, then they have effectively blocked your agenda and you do not win the agenda card's reward.
