Data is awesome! I mean, yes: the Star Trek character, but also the set of values of quantitative or qualitative variables.
So I started diving into the X-Wing List Juggler, and started seeing some interesting trends. For instance: We're still (as of 4 February 2015) in the era of Han, as his pilot card alone makes up a full 8.75% of all points spent. That's before we start adding things like the MF title, and Engine Upgrade, etc. What caught my eye, though, was the second most popular pilot: Blue Squadron B-Wing. 8.32% of all points spent on pilots.
Flipping into the "common co-pilots" tab, I see that Blue Squadron is being run next to Z-95s, X-Wings, Y-Wings, and a few HWK-290s. But only 3 times are those Blues being flown next to YT-1300s. And only once next to the YT-2400. (Other B-Wings are being flown next to those freighters are a slightly higher rate)
That, to me, is really interesting. Lots of people are talking about Han, and lots of people are talking about Whisper (3rd most popular pilot, with 5.07% of points spent on her pilot card), but I'm not reading a lot of discussion of the B-Wing. It's just there, doing it's thing, blowing fools up, and no one is saying a word. I dunno. I don't see win statistics- could be the Blue Squadron is underperforming, and no one is talking about that.
Hilarious side note: The 2 most common ships to put next to a Tie Fighter?
(another) Tie Fighter 1036 pilots
Tie Interceptor: 100 pilots.
