To me ordinance is the big area requiring a fix.
I would like to see the following:
1) If the attacking player has a target lock on the defender then no defence dice can be used against the ordinance attack dice but evade tokens may be spent;
2) Ordinance attack die cannot be rerolled for any reason;
3) To make the above fair, ordinance attack dice cannot be increased in any way through upgrade cards or native pilot abilities;
4) Ordinance can be fired without the need of a target lock but then the defender gets to roll all applicable defence dice and use evade tokens as normal;
5) Homing missiles (who already benefit from #1 get the following added benefit) that do not hit automatically roll again in the following turn, then if they do not hit they fall away and can trigger munitions failsafe if it is equipped;
To me the above makes the most sense. Think about it logically. In normal military aircraft if they have a solid lock on their target and fire a missile, the target is pretty much dead.
Firing without a target lock is allowed but naturally less accurate.
Homing missiles should be able to follow their target for a short duration.
There needs to be an incentive to shoot a missile/torpedo over a conventional primary or cannon weapon, especially since the attacking player has had to pay extra for the ordinance and does not get reroll benefits from a target lock.
Your thoughts?
I don't get why people compare to "real" missles.
You do realize xwings and tie fighters are not real?
In that sense ordnance has been getting better
It's too bad the old ones won't see as much play as others
