So I started watching Sorastro's painting guides and decided it was time for me to finally take the plunge into miniatures painting. I have never painted anything before doing these and while I am very proud of most of the outcome so far I will probably be re-doing a few of the figures because I think I can do a much better job now that I have a bit of experience under my belt.

Everything through the officers looks pretty good. I think lightsabers are tricky, but even Vader's lightsaber looks OK.

And not to be too critical, I question the palette choices on the Nexus and Trandoshan Hunters. Nexus' coloration is fairly tawny -- tans, browns, and dull oranges and yellows. Like, the backpack color on the hunters could have been a good base coat for their fur. And I've always seen Trandoshans as more of an olive green or even tan (like Bossk).

On another positive note, is that a certain grand admiral as the elite officer?

Yep I tried to get a close approximation to Thrawn and thank you for the positive comments!!

Finished the other pair of Trandos and Wookiee so I'll post pictures of them tomorrow

I like the new trandoshans. The others were a little too green maybe? Overall nice job:) they are gonna look good on the board!

Finished up Luke Skywalker today. He was "fairly" easy. I did a base coat of white and then painted his face/hands with a light tan, his hair is a mix of yellow/brown, and the gun black. Then I just used some brown wash over the parts I wanted to make darker. I was happy with the result from my basic skills

Ha the blood splatter on the Wookiee's vibro axe is very acurate.

Just finished Mak today, I think I could do a bit of cleaning up around the face... but overall I am happy with how he turned out.

And Diala is finished. Next up Jyn.... and a redo on the AT-ST my first attempt looked really bad

I really like the color palette you chose for Mak.

Gideon finished, just 2 more heroes to go!! I also got some stuff to attempt doing the bases with grass/bushes, I will probably start with the Nexu and see how those turn out before doing anything else.

Huge shout out to Sarastro for his latest AT-ST video. My first attempt at the AT-ST was really bad, this one..... I like it a lot!! Really gritty and nasty looking

Been a while since I updated my progress on painting. These aren't the best pictures but at least they have been lighting than usual haha

Troopers are done!! Next up is Weiss and 3 sets of Saboteurs. Also it's time to start working on my 2nd core set worth of figures as well; I really want to see if I can't do a much better job on the Stormtroopers this time around.
