Did FFG drop Mission Control or is it still being updated?
Is Mission Control still being maintained/updated?
I think that they have abandoned the Mission Controle...
I would LOVE for FFG to prove me wrong by updating X-Wing Mission Controle.
SO FFG PLEASE UPDATE.....
or give us some feedback.
Yeah, I just stumbled over the Mission Control Tool when browsing all the past news articles on FFG's page and found that they made this tool. How did I miss that?!
My mind exploded when I read about it
since I have a couple of X-Wing playing friends (6) and we are about to start a capaign involving all 3 factions.
We are just waiting for the arrival of our ordered Scum and Villainy expansions and this tool would be perfect or so I thought. ...until I found that ships past Wave 4 are completly missing.
Would you please add all the ships to Mission Control FFG?
Concerning....very concerning.... Third party apps are adding new content as soon as it is released. And Fantasy Flight's own Mission Control is months behind....
And now they are sending copy write CaDs to the third party apps such as X-Wing Squad Designer...
This is very frustrating....
I think that FFG is having the best of intentions towards mission-style play, but I just don't think it's taking.
That's unfortunate, because there's a LOT that could be done to make it all awesome (I would love to do mission/campaign/narrative-style play), but the bulk of people just don't care enough, and aren't organized enough, to make it work.
Well Rebel Aces was added not so long ago, so it was updated recently. It is just not happening as fast as would be desirable.

I wouldn't be too sure that it isn't taking at all. Competitive skirmish style play is dominant, but there are people out there who play scenarios. My old gaming group played several and continue to do so, including a narrative style campaign.
I also believe that Epic play is badly in need of mission-based structure in order to make it a more interesting play format. A straight out deathmatch becomes unwieldy when many ships occupy the same space. Most epic games play out on about half of the gaming area available, leading to headache-inducing traffic jams. Objective-based play could spread the game out across the board and lead to more strategic, rather than tactical gameplay
There have been some good scenarios going up on mission control lately, as well. And while it hasn't seen an update yet, Mission Control hasn't dropped entirely off FFG's radar; it's featured in their new ' Game Tools' page.
I'm not predicting an imminent and sweeping update, but I don't think FFG is ready to give MC the Star Tiles treatment yet, either. There is a small but significant demand for scenarios out there.
I was perusing these forums to see what was up but I wouldn't say it's abandoned unless there's some information out there I haven't seen.
Having worked in production myself on the art side of things, one person usually works on multiple projects simultaneously. The artists, designers, and programmers (or whoever) get pulled off of fun, extra things like this for the community to spend their time on more important duties. I would imagine it's small potatoes compared to other things project managers need the manpower on - like working on and pushing new products out.
It's not to say they won't get around to it, eventually, it's just not high on their priority list and there's not a whole lot of the community asking for it to be.
Well, the Mission builder page says all tools will be unavailable on March 25th for maintenance, so fingers crossed that means they are adding the YT-2400, the Decimator and the S&V ships. I am going to be creating X-Wing missions that tie into the Imperial Assault missions and I need those ships. Especially the YT-2400 since that is the ship the heroes will be using.
Also, I want to point out that in the past three job postings that FFG has put up, each one has included an applications developer position, so we know that FFG is taking the digital side of things pretty seriously (I also expect them to release an Imperial Assault mission builder in the the near future).

Yes!!!
I'm hoping that Mission Control becomes the go-to place for:
Squads - Easy, Medium and Hard like juggler's; Missions w/pre-built suggested squads; Campaigns
This would be a fantastic resource for all Game Stores in running demos and for anyone wanting a pickup game.
AH HA! Looks like the assumption was right. Not only is the YT-2400 and Decimator in the mission builder now, but S&V has been added as a third faction. Looks like mission builder is NOT dead after all!
EDIT: Actually, there are a lot of changes being made. The printed version of missions has a new, more streamlined layout and there are other tweaks like you can now have ships over hang off the edge of the map without being clipped.
Edited by OtakuonYahoo I LOVE it
