I thought I would post an update now that the model is printed!

Optional upgrade card to give him target lock and 1 Missle outfit.

I had to make the ship a little bit bigger so I could keep all the details.

I think it would be suitable for a "Righteous" Rebel Spike and an alternate Scum Spike for his syndicate days.

I wanted to make him blank an usable for any of the 3, or maybe just defensive rebel, offensive scum. He did have the Swordfish 10 years and left the syndicate only like 2-4 years before the show. I think.

I think its well balanced at this point.

Eh, rebel works. The crew is firmly in the "-with a heart of gold" category. Now we just need the rest of the ships...

I would have liked to see a little more green on that dial. Maybe add the 1 moves and the soft 2 turns?

True, just didnt want to drive its cost up alot. Im still tweeking it

Spike Spiegel, HLC, AdvS, VI, Shield Upgrade = 38 points.

For a PS9 ship with 4 attack (at range 2-3) and 4 agility that can almost stay put indefinitely, with an evade token every single round if need be. (Use AdvS to Barrel Roll backwards, get an evade token, red stop. Next round, green 1 straight, clear stress, Barrel Roll backwards, get an evade token.)

Possibly even worse: Spike Spiegel, HLC, AdvS, PTL, Stealth Device = 39 points.

Makes for a PS7 ship that can do the following: Use AdvS to do a Barrel Roll, PTL into a Boost, get 2 evade tokens, do a green maneuver to clear the stress. Repeat. You can do a boost, a barrel roll and 2 evade tokens every single round, all while rolling 5 green dice and never being stressed.

I think your ship might be a little broken to be honest...

Yes and no. The only green on that dial are the straight maneuvers. That's super predictable, and almost self corrects. Though as the card is written, nothing that it performs with AdvSen should get Spike a free evade token- AS gives a free action and skips the perform action step.

I do think that given Autothrusters, the ship should lose a green die.

Balance suggestions?

Might be fun if his ability was to use the 2 speed templates instead of the 1 for boost/barrel roll.

The biggest balancing part is the fact the card has the cannon upgrade. I get you want to add the plasma cannon, so maybe that should be a title instead.

Maybe something like:

Range 2-3

Attack 5

The defender doubles their agility value

You cannot attack next round

I dig it. I would say 3 evade (maybe 2), and 3 hull 0 shields feels more balanced/thematic than getting 4 green dice. I'm not sure he should have a 5 straight and a 1 straight, consider removing one of the two or making the 5 red. Stress KILLS him. I'm not sure it's thematic, but I love the counter-play.

Hes flown that ship for 10 years. I wanna give him a higher skill, so maybe droping the agility by 1, making his shield and hull 2 / 2. He does have shields on that ship, and making his pilot skill 8 like I wanted to.

Coming back to update this soon, life pulled me away for a bit. Any comments of updates since the field of play has changed?

For combat, the Swordfish II carries a quartet of internally-sealed machine guns for short- and medium-range firing and also fields a high-powered turreted plasma cannon attached to the ventral side of the fuselage for a long-range punch. The racer also has the option of using missiles on the two hard points mounted on the outside edge of each wing, though Spike's frequent lack of funds means that such weapons are a rare luxury.

Maybe change his ability to read,

When attacking from Range 3, you may use a locked attack value of 5, if you do, receive a stress token, and you may not attack next round.

Give it 2 Firepower man.

But in all seriousness, with Spike as its only pilot and the Swordfish II being unique? It should cost much more, too. 32 at least. Maybe 34.
