Vaders card already has the 'x1' on it...
You have to give him the card. But it costs zero anyways so ..

The text on the card is just fluff.
We had a discussion on this when the card was revealed. Yes...you can put the title on him. They referenced it on him in Thur intro article.
I think we discussed this to death already, his dial says tie advanced just like all the others so he uses the title just like any other advanced pilot.

I think the OP was implying that because it already says X1 that you wouldn't need the title.
This of course would be great for anyone that doesn't want to buy the raider for a couple upgrade cards that has no interest in Epic.
Of course this is not the case but one could have hoped.......

You don't really want to read it all, anyways. Just know that Vader is used in the examples article that FFG posted. Also, the dial for his ship is just Tie Advanced....without the X1. So, one way to look at it is that you HAVE to give him the upgrade!

"What the hell is 1 X 1 !!!!!!"

1 x 1 = 1. So you can still play it on Vader.

Possible...I chimed in mainly because I was one of the more vocal people regarding this question when it was initially discussed...someone pointed out the article and boom my questions were answered...I can certainly understand how it throws people off though...

TIE advanced = TIE advanced x1.
Or he'd have a different dial.

I was wondering this myself. So if you wanted to fly 5 Advanced in Epic. I wouldn't have to by two raiders.
