Hello Marrek Steele.
However I do have one gripe. What makes this less points than marksmanship?
Talk about point creep this should be atleast a unique if it is only 1 point.
Here's one possible reason. Marksmanship changes not just 1 focus result to a crit but the other focus results into hits. It is basically a focus action with 3 differences: 1. It can only be used for your attack. 2. You can change the first focus result into a crit. 3. It costs 3 more points *and* an EPT slot.
Calculation also takes your EPT slot, however it costs 1 point and only changes 1 focus result into a crit. It also uses a focus token to do so.
*added section here*
If you had Calculation and Recon Specialist on a ship, you could spend your action to focus, assigning that second focus token to your ship. during combat, you can spent 1 focus for Calculation and keep 1 for your defensive roll. I honestly only see Calculation really worth it for the Pilots that have abilities that deal with crits.
