Hi,

We don't know the fully released Raider specs yet, but what would your Epic build be like?

I want to ask:

What are your goals for a Raider Epic build? How do you make it work?

What kind of synergies are possible?

Does the ship do anything else besides blast stuff? It seems like the Raider's actions are different from the Rebel ships. No Jam.

A quick note:

Isard doesn't work as far as I'm aware, since Huge ships do not get evade tokens.

If we start looking from Crew we have a lot of cool options:

Fleet Officer: Huges don't get stress tokens. A strictly better Coordinate for 3 points

WED: Good but also combos with Darth Vader crew

Moff Jerjerrod: Excellent defensive choice

Darth Vader + WED, Darth Vader + Raider Fore/Quad Laser Cannons: Built in Gunner. Probably needs WED or Tibanna+Recover to utilize effectively though.

Mara Jade: Anti-R1 protection, maybe good with Huge ship Booster?

Rebel Captive: This sounds really sweet. Attacking the Raider now sounds like a tough choice!

Tactician: marginally useful, but I think more exciting options are available.

Targeting Coordinator is a good potential crew option.

And Weapons Engineer is a decent crew choice considering Huge ships cannot spend Focus Tokens

My first attempt at a synergistic list. Meaning, I think you could easily just drop in some cost effective ships and have a good game, but I wanted to see if there's any magic in building.

Damage: 8 dice Primary, 1 crit Ion Battery. optional Single Turbolaser. Jonus rerolls for Battery and Single Turbo

Defense: WED and Backup remove 1 damage card and restore 1 shield a turn.

Energy gain: Expected 2 for banks, 3 for straights (Engineering Team), Tibanna +3.

Actions: early: Reinforce, TL. Later: Reinforce, WED.

Energy Usage: 7 a turn at max efficiency

2 Ion Cannon Battery

2 Primary 2nd shot

1 Gunnery blank to hit

1 WED repair

1 Backup

2 Single Turbolasers (only used against other Huge or 0/1 agility targets)

Recover shields

Inefficiencies?:

Gunnery Team might be less useful with Jonus boosting the secondary rolls. At least it converts blanks to hits though.

Engineering Team will have to see the Raider actually does go forward often or not. I expect it will, starting in a corner.

Should I add Quad Laser Cannons to the Fore or Aft for more damage? Seems like I don't have enough energy.

Synergies and Battle Plan:

Keep Kagi nearer to front to screen for missiles and higher damage. He's sacrificial.

Jendon towards the back to boost the Raider's secondaries.

Simply move as a large mass.

I think Targeting Coordinator isn't cost efficient as all you get for 4 points is a TL. Also my energy usage is quite high already. And I plan to use the Aft to TL anyway.

Weapons Engineer doesn't sound bad though. Those two coupled sound great! Maybe that's a great way to get high dice output for the Huge ship.

Flavourwise I'm not yet convinced of the Decimator.

Everything else should work, the Raider giving out target locks at a stand off range, the fighter screen attacking the opposing capital ship while the Raider takes on the fighters at closer range.

anyone else have any raider ideas?

Is jonus worth it?
