Your top wanted characters

By DanteRotterdam, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Just a fun little topic to see what you guys would like to see released in the coming source books.

My top 10 is:

10. Besalisk (especially after rewatching the Clone Wars episodes with General Krell)

9. Yarkora (Yak-face... What's not to love?)

8. Kaminoan (Engineering clones seems an awesome avenue for the Engineer career)

7. Gotal (which seem to be on the docket for the smuggler book)

6. Ishi Tib (Because fish need more love)

5. Amanaman/Amani (Big evil, primitive headhunters... No need to say anything more.)

4. Aleena (sue me, I like those small kiddy races...)

3. Quarren (why aren't they here yet??? I love me some squid!)

2. Gamorreans (the window is getting smaller though since they aren't in Lords of Nul Hutta)

1. Jawa's (I'm hoping for them to show up in the Engineer book, perhaps with a scavenger spec)

I am gonna go out on a limb and guess that the Tatooine region book that is bound to happen will have gamoreans, Jawas and sand people.

Once I got started I couldn't stop I did fourteen. Some of these can be achieved by reflavoring/reskinning humans, but I wanted them on the list anyway.

1. Arkanian
2. Miraluka
3. Jawa
4. Neti
5. Besalisk
6. Kaleesh
7. Zeltron

8. Togorian
9. Verpine
10. Echani
11. Whipid
12. Feeorin
13. Ugnaught
14. Gungan

I would love for this to be true. Because no matter how many people get tired of Tatooine I don't think I will ever be!

Terrible title for this topic by the way but I cannot edit it to say; "Your top wanted playable races"

Wow, so hard to pick just ten! I'd like to see (in no particular order):

Lutrillian

Jawa

Ugnaught

Snivvian

Gamorrean

Whiphid

Saurin (would LOVE to know how and why they separated from the Trandoshans)

Bimm (both varieties, I guess)

Devaronian

Ewok

Yes, this is all OT. But I'm happy for pretty much anything from the films to show up. But if I were to expand with my favorite five EU species, I'd add:

Squib

Verpine

Chubbit

Sith Pureblood

Zeltron

If I ever veer away from movie-only species in my pet project (see sig), I'll likely do some of these (the ones that aren't already i the Unofficial Species Menagerie).

1. Bith

2. Aleena

3. Advose

4. Talz

5. Givin

6. Shistavanen

7. Lamproid

8. Dug

9. Pa'lowick

10. Amanaman (do doo do doo doo)

I'm going to go with:

10) Zeltron

09) Zeltron

08) Zeltron

07) Zeltron

06) Zeltron

05) Zeltron

04) Zeltron

03) Zeltron

02) Giant Green Rabbit

01) Zeltron

I forgot about the Lepi. I would be okay with them, actually. The concept is kind of silly, but there's a lot of potential for an awesome gun bunny in that species.

1) Devaronian

2) Gotal

3) Arkanian

4) Verpine

5) Zygerrian

6) Wroonian

7) Ishii Tib

8) Mandalorian (akin to Corellians)

9) Herglic

10) Bith

1. Yarkora (AoR Spy Sourcebook)

2. Barabel (F&D somewhere since the species reveres jedi?)

3. Whipid (Anytime they feel that they need a cool monster species)

4. Devaronian (Crossing fingers for Fly Casual)

5. Gamorrean (Inevitable Tattooine book)

6. Bith (AoR somewhere)

7. Quarren (AoR Somewhere)

8. Quermian (F&D something or other)

9. Dathomir Witch human (this would make a great Force and Destiny Region book!)

10. Sluissi (AoR engineer sourcebook)

Hmm, im going to have more than 10, I just know it! so, in no particular order, besides for my first. they are the ones I want the most

zeltron

yoda species (now that uncle George is gone, we might find out what it is, and play it)

Darth vader

the emperor (if cap. America could punch out Hitler, why couldn't our players in an rpg)

miralukians

faleens

farghuls

gamoreans

hutts (soon, but not yet, so im not counting it)

solo (so I know where my smuggler stands)

Mon mothma (good for interactions in aor)

wolf man species

vong

ysalamir

glitter stim spiders

and... (this one cheating) super star destroyer

@ politicfish im pretty sure that force witch will be like.Jedi or sith. you take a career and specialization and call it whatever you want. at least I hope I got that right. its what im going to do for a fallanissi.

Right, and I'm sure that's the kind of career and specialization you could go with. I just thought that whole setting and culture would be something cool to dig into, and would be thematically appropriate.

Devaronian

Dug

Besalisk

Gungans

Gamorrean

Bith

Zygerrian

Ugnaught

Jawa

Quarren

Changeling

that super acrobatic chick's species Ahsoka was chasing when her lightsaber was stolen

Soccoron (if they get the special, different Human treatment like Correlians)

so, a dathomir book. that would be cool

6. Ishi Tib (Because fish need more love)

If the Ishi-Tib show up before a massive alien compendium, it ought to be in an Age of Rebellion book. I know one Ishi-Tib was in Jabba's Palace, but there were five in the background of the briefing aboard Home One. They are one of the few alien races clearly aligned with the Rebellion in the films.

Alien races I can't wait to see are...

1. Gamorrean

2. Jawa

3. Quarren

4. Bith

5. Barabel

6. Verpine

7. Devaronian

8. Herglic

9. Snivian

10. Talz

I could have easily included ten more, such as Kubaz, Caamasi, Ayrou and others. And then my two desperate long-shot hopefuls...

1a. Rybet

1b. Ssi-Ruuk

I'm going to add Lurmen to my list.

Devaronian

Gotal

Herglic

Houk

Verpine

Whiphid

Those would be my top six.

Verpines

Vratix (from Thyferra)

Bith

The others I'd use as a GM, but wouldn't really want to see playable races. I don't want a Gammorean, a Jawa, or an Ewok at my table. :)

I've seen folks ask for Herglics and Farghuls in other threads, too. But those species are barely featured in the EU, so I never realized they were fan favorites. What do folks like about them? (Please read this as genuine curiosity, not a passive-aggressive attack on the idea of them being included in the line!)

Yeah, that snot is a ***** to get out of the wood, plus they eat all the food.

But in all seriousness I had this concept of a Gamorrean Marauder that lived in the engine room of a freighter just to stay away from the others during down time. A gruff, simpleton that is however loyal and valuable.

Herglic are an old race that still have a pocket of space they can call their own (kinda.. the Empire still claims it much like Bothan space). Herglic are also fairly widespread in the galaxy unlike some of the less social species (like Chiss). Further, the Herglic are "big guys" without being typecast into a dumb brute role (and I like Houk for the cunning brute role).
