Trenloe and Augur Hero Abilities/Heroic Feats

By Nawks, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

A couple questions came up in our previous game, regarding Trenloe the Strong and Augur Grisom's Hero Abilities/Heroic Feats

Trenloe the Strong

Heroic Feat:

Use when you preform an attack, before dice are rolled. Choose and remove one defence die from the defence pool of your target.

This is just for that one attack correct? Since it states "When you preform an attack"

Or is the one defence die removed from the targets defence pool for Trenloe's entire turn (if two attacks actions preformed)?

Augur Grisom

Hero Ability:

Each other hero within 3 spaces of you gains:

Each time a monster misses or deals no damage on an attack targeting you, recover one health.

Does this include Augur?

I understand it as not including Augur, as it states "Each other hero." My group feels it should include Augur, since it is his heroic ability.

Heroic Feat:

Use during you turn. Each hero in your line of sight recovers 2 health and 2 fatigue

The same question as above. Does this include Augur? Is he considered in his own line of sight?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Trenloe the Strong

Heroic Feat:

Use when you preform an attack, before dice are rolled. Choose and remove one defence die from the defence pool of your target.

This is just for that one attack correct? Since it states "When you preform an attack"

This is just for one attack. You use it when performing an attack action, as you noted, and then the hero sheet is flipped over and the Hero Feat is no longer accessible for any subsequent attacks.

Augur Grisom

Hero Ability:

Each other hero within 3 spaces of you gains:

Each time a monster misses or deals no damage on an attack targeting you, recover one health.

Does this include Augur?

No, it does not include Augur. "Each other hero" excludes Augur himself.

Heroic Feat:

Use during you turn. Each hero in your line of sight recovers 2 health and 2 fatigue

The same question as above. Does this include Augur? Is he considered in his own line of sight?

This one does include Augur. Your own space is always within LoS to itself, and this one does not specify "other hero" as before.

Steve-O is correct on all accounts.

For the record, both are fantastic heroes, and make for an absolutely brutal combat focused team.

Mixing them with High Mage Quellen and Jain Fairwood is probably the most common combination I run up against, although my players are starting to adore Roganna the Shade.

And no, I don't own the expansion with Trenloe, but one of my players bought it for himself and asked if he can use him, under the condition I get the monsters from the pack, so I allowed it (although I don't use them anyway most of the time).
