Poll: 360 primary weapons only +1 for range 1 in primary arc

How would everyone feel if the FFG stated that going forward all 360 primary weapons only earned +1 attack dice at range 1 in their primary arc? Is is too much of a nerf to them?

I'm wondering about this from the community. My store has been play testing this for a while.

With Autothrusters on the way? Hell yes.

Technically-speaking, they'd be more likely to lose the +1 at range 1. It takes significantly more traverse to track close targets, which tends to negatively impact accuracy.

Yes, as a balance correction it's far too heavy-handed for my taste.

I would while heartedly support this. Top 4 spots at our local store tournament went to either falcons or decimators. Hitting 4 dice to anyone at range one out of arc. Its brutal to play against.

It is disapointing to see nearly all everyone at the top of tornaments with big turrented ships as it should mostly be a dogfighting game.

Big turrets still have to dogfight.

Also, there's some room between "an adjustment to the power of Large turrets would be nice" and "the OP's suggested adjustment is a good idea".

And so it should be. We want to give the turreted ships some competition, not consign them to the Wasteland of Unplayable Miniatures.

The YT-2400 won't like it.

Not sure that big turreted ships do much dogfighting. Both the YT's and Firespray do a bit mainly for getting out of arcs. But I believe no one has ever said "The other day I was dogfighting with my shuttle" even with EU haha

Yep the issue will always be one ship/squad/style seems better than the others. It may even be true but cant just keep nerfing everything to try and remedy it. I think Xwing is balanced mostly. There are a few exception just look at what is not used in tournaments or doesn't do well.

I like it. So, yes.

There's a problem complaining about turret ships, every complaint focuses on Fat Han, Decimators + Isard, 58 Dash.

I never hear complains about ORS, Chewy with DtF, Leebo or Vrill.

The problem has never been turrets, nor post dial movement, nor high PS, nor high defense ships. The problem is all of them on the 1 ship.

I think the timed tournament structure and MoV plays a huge role in Fat Turrets being as popular as they are.

Autothrusters basically does this, it just reversed and applies to all ranges when outside of arc or inside of arc at R3.

It's a bigger boost, but costs 2 pts and only is available to ships that struggle the most with turrets.
