For all his musical genius the guy was a pedophile, let's not all forget that.
actually he was never proven guilty....so what we think he was is different than what he was never proven to be...

You are correct, he was never found guilty in a court of law, he only paid off the victim's family 20 mil to just "go away' And this was the second time that he was in court for the same charges but with a different victim. I don't know, but if I was hauled off to court for such a serious and heinous crime that I was not guilty of , you bet I would defend myself to the very end and would accept to deals no matter how much it would end up costing me.
Ok for the first part of that statement the kid said on 20/20 that he didn't touch him but after the father talked to his son then the son "changed" his mind and just for the bad press alone he had to pay cause think about it that much bad press would kill his career. Now for the second one bad press and second charge would had ment jail time so the payday for the family. I have to admit me if I wanted not to go to jail then I would pay out the ass not to go even if I knew I didn't do it the bad press alone would kill my career. Facts kill career but speculations don't
He named his kid "blanket" and made him wear a mask...
Proven pedophile in court or not that guy was a whackjob..
Doesn't change the fact that thriller is probably the best music video ever created (for its time) and MJ gave Wierd Al tons of material....
Thriller, Bad, Beat it, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal...stuff from that day was good. Anything that came out after Free Willy was terrible.
WIthin 2 hours of his death my phone was blowing up with txt jokes about MJ....i guess when someone is a creepy pedophile they are fair game...
*sigh* This thread should've been in off-topic =/
Yes, he touched kids. Who hasn't?
=D

Everything is fair game.
My brother's a bastard. He sent me, not one hour after MJ died, two MJ jokes to my phone. One of them was:
"Children of the corn, watch out! Michael Jackson is going your way!"
Is that not the definition of TOO SOON?

Care to share a few?
Well, I just sent the first joke, the second I received was:
"Michael Jackson's punishment in hell will be to be burned until his skin is charcoal black."
Which wasn't even funny. Other than the whole "he was black but then he got vitiligo and slowly turned white" overplayed topic.
Edit: Spelling.
You know I haven't really listened to his stuff for close to like 20 years now.... I was in my car for like 6 hours today and several stations had nothing but his songs going. It made me forget all the negative things that he was acused of and not found guilty. It should be said that he is a PROVEN musical talent and should be respected and if you grew up when he was on top of the world you would give him that. I forgive those who are ignorant.

No, that's the definition of a bad joke. There is no too soon when the joke is actually funny.
In remembrance of Michael Jackson, McDonalds is bringing back the MJ burger. 50yr old meat between 10 year old buns.

If you ask me that's pretty tasteless.

Regardless of whether you liked MJ or not, it cannot be denied that he was a truly gifted singer, songwriter, dancer, and all around entertainer who changed the very face of popular music as we know it today. Nearly every artist of today's generation owes a big 'thank you' to MJ and can (and usually does) cite him as an influence at some point in their musical upbringing. To be certain, MTV owes Michael a certain amount of respect, as he really made music videos an all-important media in which to promote songs to an audience on a scale and scope previously unheard of.
True, his latter years were a tragic commentary on the pitfalls of uber-stardom and a horrific upbringing, and that sometimes overshadows Michael's contributions. Yet and still, Michael Jackson is and shall remain, in the very best sense of the word, one of a kind!
R.I.P. to a legend: Michael Jackson! You will be missed, but not forgotten!
you know what's too soon?
I've been playing L4D versus mode under the name "Michael Jackson Zombie-mode" and battle-medicing TF2 as "MJ's Painkillers."
it's a shame for the king of pop to be dead. I would have enjoyed seeing his comeback tour be a success. While I may not be the largest of fans I like billions of others attempted to learn how to do the moonwalk and randomly did the Thriller dance whenever I was dressed up as a zombie (for whatever the occasion may be).
