Stunning work Agis! You're shading and highlighting on Luke is especially good
Thanks!
Why are the troopers armor plates on the legs grey? Is that an OSL (Object Source Lighting) effect you are going for?

Miniatures need much more dramatic lighting to look realistic. White is difficult to use as the primary color due to highlighting and shading issues. I think this represents the miniatures upper body and leg positions casting shadows on itself. (At least that is what it looks to me!) And may I say it looks marvelous!
I find the stormtrooper a bit too gritty for my taste but I really do like how all the detail pops out on it!
Luke is just perfect.
The basing looks awesome but it will look funny on forest/indoor tiles. I guess you can't win here no matter what. :/

No OSL - I really dislike OSL to be honest. I t looks only good from one angle...
The idea was a grittier more realistic look. Troopers get dirty in the sand!
Done the same here:
(Troops by Dreamforge, heads WotC bendy Star Wars Clone Trooper)
Love those clones!

>>> The only solution would be clear plastic bases which I really dislike.
:/
But since I doubt that I play the game itself very often the unsuited bases are not really bothering me...
I think figure isn't ready without base. Not sure about grey legs otherwise they look good.
Superb work
The Dark Trooper Phase II comes into my mind
Amazing work, so much inspiration for new painters such as myself!
Thanks folks!
And yes, the Dark Troopers were on my mind too.
Your work is awesome!!! How did you shade the white on the storm troopers??
Fantastic work!
The single pose of the Troopers annoyed me a bit, since the material is easy to work with I started a conversion.
I cut off the helmet and calves and repositioned the head and lower legs a bit, result is shown on the left mini below.
In the end it was - IMO - not really worth it. Looks still too similar.
I also painted the lower part of the mini more white on this mini, since some people seemed to be irritated by a slightly dirty Storm Trooper - shock, gasp!
Below both Troopers are shown together with the Vader miniature.
First player miniature, the mighty and equally fierce Wookie warrior Gaarkhan... Very easy to paint mini, basically just a wash and a bit dry brushing.
And as usual more pics on my website: http://www.adpublishing.de/html/star_wars.html

Honestly, no shading involved, white basecoat, wash, white again.
Edited by AgisYour stormtroopers white really seems to pop!! Amazing!!
great work, i wish i had your painting talents
Out of all the Vaders I have seen your one is the best
WOW Your stormtroopers are simply amazing...
really really impressive I am very jealous
Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking of painting my AT-ST black with the windows glowing red like Vader's lightsaber. Adding a FirstOrder Emblem on the front panel. Does anyone see ant obstacles with the black being the base color. I think a red glaze should glow a little bit, right?
