Rhymer in da club

I've been trying to get Major Rhymer into a list. I really like flying a bomber with a high PS. I'd like to have a bomb on him, but whatever. This is what I've got so far.

Rhymer + Concussion or Cluster (??) + Predator + Munitions Failsafe

OGP + FCS + Fleet Officer + Rebel Captive + EU

Bounty Hunter

I'm thinking predator and fleet officer will really help Rhymer get some hits off. And predator will be good throughout the game too. I was having fun flying him against some firesprays earlier.

Maybe proton rockets? 4 dice at range 2, and do not require TL, just to have focus. And they're fairly cheap

Or sneak a stealth device on him....... I'm not sure if that's a genius idea, or maybe the dumbest.

I'd rather have a hull than a stealth on a bomber.

Prockets could be good yeah. Especially with predator.

Well the stealth would let him roll 5 dice on prockets...... until he's hit

I would never put a stealth device on a 2 agility ship.. its gone the first time he's shot at. I can appreciate wanting the extra agility for the Procks, but even at 4 dice it's a good choice, and cheap as well.. I wouldn't mind 2 on a bomber.. and a prox mine or a seismic charge.

Rhymer is great for his ability, so any ordnance is good for what he can do with it.

Proton Rockets and Stealth Device are the same price a Adv. Proton Torpedoes... Without the risk of being hit before you manage to get them off (don't forget they're range 1 so not the easiest payload to deliver with a TIE Bomber). Also the Torpedoes allow you to change up to 3 blank results to focuses which works well with the Fleet Officer on your OGP!

Yeah if I go the procket route then i could free up enough points to even put a tactitian on the Bounty Hunter after ditching the Concussion Missiles and the Munitions Failsafe.

Also, don't forget that Major Rhymer's ability* let's him fire PRockets and APTs at range 2!

With Rhymer's PS 8 (PS10 if you go for VI), they shouldn't be that hard to get off.

* For reference: When attacking with a secondary weapon, you may increase or decrease the weapon range by 1 to a limit of Range 1-3.

Rhymer's a PS 7.

The main issue I have with him is that the higher PS is great for dropping Seismic and Proton Bombs but he's geared more for being a non-splashing Rocket and Missile user instead with his ability which they sinked alot of his increase in points from Jonus..

Another munition that he favors is the Flechette Torpedoes as it is not only cheap but he can negate the range one blindspot. I often consider a combination of a Flechette Torpedo and Proton Rocket for 5 points for Munition based Bombers and since you're already using Predator you could get rid of Fail-safe . For five points here's some other combinations you could use on him:

Seismic B.+ Proton R. (CQC Bomber Style)

Flechette T.+ Proximity M. (Anti-Phantom)

Flechette T. + Ion Pulse M. (Slow down whichever you need to for the Bounty Hunter and Shuttle to corner)

Try this list out. Personally yet to fly it so no defined strategy as of now. But the synergy in theory appears strong. And of course Rhymer's payload is variable.

That fleet officer would get along great with Rhymer and Brath. But Vessery would work really well there too.

The other day I flew

Rhymer + Prockets + Predator + Seismic

Bounty Hunter + Mara Jade

OGP + Rebel Captive + FCS + EU

Worked really well. Wasn't flying against anything too competetive but i really liked it. I might swap Mara for a proximity mine or a different crew. I really like predator on Rhymer. Makes his prockets attack pretty solid 4 hits.
