Wrong.

Heat radiates just fine.

You don't, however, get convection cooling.

Which is what I get for posting on something I learned years ago, this late at night. Oops.

What I meant was more that the plate attached to the gun would be detachable, so you could BOTH have the plate stay static AND be able to remove the gun bit and peg the plate flush into the fuselage.

As for elevation, that's trickier unless there's a male|hinge|female connector that the guns are built into. Did the Tantive have it at all?

The primary turrets on the Tantive spin around, but I'd have to cut the guns off and reglue them for elevation (seems like the wrong word to use in space!). The secondary guns are all fixed. I haven't moded any of those yet.

I wonder where the side arcs are meant to come from.

I guess that from the same place as the CR-90's rear-arc ones...
