Boosting Change?

By Danath "ATLAS", in X-Wing

I was just thinking about the 2400 and when it came out we got new rules on how to Barrel Roll large ship. Any chance we'll see Boosting change for large ships with the Aggressor coming out?

Man would that shake up the meta if that happened...

What if it was like a BR but forward? Not sure how the bank would work.

There has been so e speculation about that since the BR change, but so far no one has come up with a really good way to implement it.

I doubt it

Barrel roll was a easy fix

Can't see boosting being a easy adjustment

I'm not sure how they's do it, it made sense with the barrel roll as large ships cover alot of real estate, boost however has been used on large ships since wave two with no change i dont know if they will see a need to change it.

The best boosting change would be to have it chosen during planning.

Imagine a game where you have to out-think your opponent and try and guess where they are going, rather than simply watching where they move and then boosting and barrel rolling into or out of their firing arc! :D

Shocking!

Someone suggested the boost template placed to the left or right side of the pegs.

so ıf you wanted to boost left the peg would be placed on the right side of the pegs, which slightly reduces the distance you travel and still makes the boost action easy to execute.

That would make having high PS a bit of a penalty. As it stands now high PS ships have the chance to take actions that react to the board state but are vulnerable to being blocked.

Oops. Wrong thread...

If FFG were going to do a Large ship Boost change, this is really the only one I can see as at all viable.

Maybe, although for 3 out of 6 ships that particular change is actually a buff, since it makes the move short enough that they're more likely to keep arc.

Engine Upgrade comes with a large ship and depicts the Falcon on it. FFG are happy with how boosting works on large ships.

I don't think it would happen because the cards that let you boost come with huge ships

Yeah, let's change the boosting rules because people can't figure out where a giant ship will go and either block or adjust their firing arcs accordingly. How about we put all ships on fixed rails that run right into each other and force them to joust. Games will be done in 15 minutes.
