Advice on flying two lists

By MrkvChain, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi all,

the last two games I played against my brother, we both used the same lists. The first game ended after I flew Echo from the table, while the second one was over when my brother tried to K-Turn with Corran and flew him off the table. But it's been fun for both of us, and we both want to improve our game. So here are the lists:

My brother's list:

Dash Rendar

+ Push the limit

+ Heavy Laser Cannon

+ Kyle Katarn

+ Outrider

+ Engine Upgrade

Corran Horn

+ Veteran Instincts

+ R2-D2

+ Fire Control System

My list:

Omnicron Group Pilot

+ Darth Vader

Echo

+ Veteran Instincts

+ Rebel Captive

+ Fire Control System

+ Advanced Cloaking Device

Soontir Fel

+ Push the limit

+ Royal Guard Tie

+ Stealth Device

+ Hull Upgrade

So, what advice can you give us? Be it asteroid placement, deployment advice, flying tips, whom to kill first, minor tweaks to the lists, etc.. Everything will be appreciated, so we can try to get more familiar with the lists.

Thank you!

"Don't fly off the board" seems like good advice for the two of you.

For the Imperial side I'd say Corran is the most dangerous one. He moves last and shoots first which could very well be the end for Echo, Soontir would handle a bit better, but is still threatened. If you focus down him first then you can spend your time on hitting Dash's doughnut with Soontir and Echo as it is their specialty.

On the Rebel side I'd say keep Corran safe at Range 2-3 until you have a good opportunity to move in on Range 1 and capitalize on your ability. Four dice in the shooting phase and 4 more in the End phase will surely deal some damage to Echo or Soontir, if not kill them. As for target priority it's pretty much equal between Soontir and Echo. They are both good at hitting Range 1 on Dash which you want to avoid. The shuttle shouldn't be a problem as long as you keep Corran away from being focused. If you lose all shields and then take the Vader crit from the shuttle you're in trouble. In conclusion, Dash is your workhorse, fly around the asteroids and be as difficult to reach as possible, Range 3 is what you want. Keep Corran passive until you have a good opportunity. Since you've got R2-D2 you're fine taking sporadic shots now and then, just don't use him as a tank.

True, but some lessons you have to learn the hard way ;)

@Narcoleptic

Thanks, we're gonna try that next time.
