Battle of Endor

My friend just started with X-Wing. He is focusing on Empire until Scum come out. He has TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors, with plans to get a VT-49.

My goal is to make casual lists for a while until he gets the hang of things. I came up with this thematic Battle of Endor list (since I am facing TIEs and 'Ceptors). It isn't competitive or optimized, but it contains some tricks to show what he might expect from opponents.

I really like the theme, and the individual ships have tricks without any synergy to one another. It should be challenging enough without being overpowering. I am looking forward to seeing if the barrel roll significantly adds to Wedge's effectiveness.

I like it :)

I'm a big fan of ABXY lists - they're a great teaching tool for new players (for new rebel players to fly, and imperial players to fly against). they get to see the four most common rebel fighters and see how each of them handles. They're also good fun to play, with plenty of variety and differing options.

One suggestion to consider would be to swap Predator for Push the Limit. This is more common on A-wings overall, and will give new players a feel for how to handle stress on an arc-dodging ship.

If only it was as easy to make an Imperial equivalent (with a fighter, bomber, interceptor and advanced)...

Nice, I like this.

As an alternative list, you could swap Biggs in place of Wedge to showcase the tactic of using him as a shield for the others (B and/or Y ?) and have a few points to spare.
