Gravity Belt?

By bloody malth, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I apologize if this question has already been asked in the forums; it's been awhile since I have posted anything.

The Suns of Fortune (Corellian Sourcebook) supplement lists an item called Gravity Belt in table 3-4: Gear and Equipment, but there isn't any description for the item.

Am I missing something or is it a misprint? Are there stats for the cool-sounding gravity belt somewhere? It doesn't seem to be there to replenish anything from the other two gravity items in the table.

Grav Chute. Error in not removing name from table.

Thanks for responding, but could you explain the reasoning behind that answer? The Anti-Grav Chute is already in the table, two slots above Gravity Belt.

I believe the gravity belt was originally going to be a 'smaller' version of the Grav-chute. When they decided this wouldn't work well, they pulled it, but missed the table.

The only official answer we have is that it was a typo and to just ignore it.

The first rule of GravityBeltClub is that we don't talk about the Gravity Belt...

However, since it is in the table, it’s up to your GM to decide how to handle it.

In our case, my GM allows me to use it to increase the distance that I can cover in a single maneuver, effectively reducing the gravity to something like 1/6th normal. Of course, it would require an Athletics or Coordination roll to do that successfully, and it’s not the most reliable of technology.

However, it has saved my butt on a couple of occasions.

Another option would be for it to allow the player to act as if they were a Hoverer, much like Toydarians. You wouldn’t be able to fly around like a Sil 1 airspeeder, like the Jet Pack does, but then it’s not nearly as expensive as a Jet Pack.

Yeah the gravity belt was never completed. Jimmy Whispers is still working on it.

Also Darth Vader is bad...
