Tie Bombers Only 1 Bomb?

Improved ordinance targeting: Tie Bomber Only Mod. When attacking with a secondary weapon you may change one blank to a {focus}.

I would hope that a Tie Bomber aces type pack would introduce new types of bombs too.

Scrambler bomb: 2pts. Drop before revealing your maneuver. When performing a target lock action, all enemy ships must lock onto the scrambler if possible. The scrambler has 1 hull and 3 evade.

Debris Screen: 1pt. Action: drop this bomb (prox mine size). this would simply work exactly like a debris field except it can't damage you. just action denial and stress inducing.

carpet bomb: 6pts. same as a seismic, just use three templates. the one you put out like normal, and the other two go on each side of the one you put out at a distance of the 1 template.

Ion Bomb: 3pts same as a seismic except if it hits it gives 2 ion tokens and 1 damage.

There are are a few things in regards to helping the bomber out that I think would go a long way.

First, let's get another worthwhile bomb! Proximity mines have helped a great deal after the errata to them, but as little as bombs are seen, these are basically it. I would love to see a bomb that deals stress/ion tokens. Even better if it is like a proximity mine in that it stays in play. :)

Second, let's get a pilot (or even better a title) that allows the bombs to be deployed alternative ways. Something like Emon Azzameen's ability, or maybe you could drop bombs with a stress token (but still not perform other actions). This would allow them to drop their bomb after doing a K-Turn, which would greatly increase their threat range.

Don't know if any of these will happen, but I think it could be pretty cool. My hope beyond hope is that we will see a Bomber Ace pack. It would be packed with so many goodies...

If FFG had access to hindsight, I wonder if they would have given the TIE Bomber: Missile, Torpedo, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb. It would make MUCH more sense.

However, given that the pilot cards have been printed, we have to hope that there's an easy fix coming to provide multiple bomb icons. Perhaps future TIE Bomber Aces pilot cards could be printed with different upgrade icons?

It's not that the TIE Bomber is bad - the ship itself is ok. It's just not worth putting any missiles or torpedoes on it. Most of them are rubbish on a TIE Bomber (and rubbish in general).

And, for the record, I don't think that FFG should try to make EVERY card playable with constant 'fixes'. Let's face it, without help, Proton Torpedoes and Concussion Missiles, etc, suck. Let sleeping dogs lie and accept that some of the early ordnance is mostly bad. There's only so much 'fixing' that can be done before the game feels like it's being fudged to try and correct everything.

New bomber pilot: After dropping a bomb you may perform one free [iNSERT YOUR FAVORITE ACTION HERE] action.

If you have placed a bomb and it does not hit an enemy ship, the card is not discarded.
