Looks awesome! Is it on rails?
As much as I would love to play something like this... where would you play something like this? All the arcades in my area are long gone. I've heard that's the case with most areas. I'm surprised they even developed this.
Overall looks good, although the Hoth level is really stupid. But come on, a 17 minutes game?
I would definetly like to try it, but I'm eager to get a real Star Wars flight simulator that I could play at home. I miss Star Wars Galaxies so much....
My jaw has not dropped that hard over an arcade game since the first time I saw the pod racing game in an arcade
Red they have added a flight sim to TOR. Don't know if it will help, I quit SWG before flight.
The ride does look to be on rails, I want thst pos for a real flight sim, or battletech, or Hecht just my display for everything....mmmmm suroundie.
This is pretty much what's going on in my head when I play X-Wing anyway.
On the rails, looks fun but your not really piloting.

I have never played TOR, but from what I've seen, it is nothing compared to SWG. TOR is more like a rail shooter while in SWG, you could go wherever you want. You could also customize your ship to fit your style but was limited by the mass value of each ship. If you took an Interceptor and wanted to give it the best engine there is for speed and maniability, you had to sacrifice firepower or durability. Do you want your cannon to shoot fast or slower but deal more damage. Is your reactor good enough to supply your lasers or will you always be stuck waiting to recharge because you wanted a badass cannon. Then there was RE where you could combined all the best qualities of a type of loot and make some very good piece of equipment. Then there was PvP or going solo against the Corvette... Good times...
the chucky cheese in my area had one of these.. had to fight an 9 year old over played next.. thank goodness the serve beer there.
Move to Japan fellas. They have banks of Gundam pod games all over the place.

I have played a Battletech game at a Dave and Busters in Atlanta back in the mid- 1990's. It was pretty cool as you actually went into a closed cockpit and played against other real players on a LAN. It was all high tech for the time.
Personally, until it comes out on Xbox, it won't matter much to me.

Yeah... it looks like it would be fun 1 time through and get boring really quick. Its basically just shooting things that pop on your screen. You really do not get any control whatsoever.

The single player space is a rail shooter, but you can upgrade your equipment and go for a bunch of bonus goals once you max out your ship. The multiplayer though is free flight and there are a bunch of ships that are really modifiable. It is one of the few reasons I have considered going back to it now and then.
If you don't know about it yet, Star Citizen is the new MMO Chris Robert's (of Wing Commander fame) is developing. The ships are built to scale and you actually play as a FPS/TPS human that can walk around space docks and climb into your ships. It is going to come with a single player module too that resembles the wing commander games.
It is pretty sweet: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/

...if it sees the light of day (or lets be honest, the glow of our monitors)

Yeah I saw that. It looks very impressive and I might consider upgrading my computer so I can play this game.
But it still have one big flaw... it's not Star Wars.
I enjoyed Jump to lightspeed, but really the entire X-wing series is now on GOG.

I miss those so much, spent so much money and time in those!
Yeah, I've played a few games. Mega fun. A SW version with pumped up graphics ... DREEEAAAAAMMMM!!

The single player flight part is on rails, Instill had a great time with it. However they have added pvp fighter combat that has customization and free flight. I have not yet actually tried it but it is starwars and TOR was vastly superior in my book to SWG. I played SWG from the beginning to just before space, it was ok, sometimes fantastic, but the combat system was bad and the bugs were many. TOR actually feels good to play, the difficulty is enough to be a challenge but not unreasonable, abilities are fun, lightsaber combat looks right, and my Sith characters could rebel in their naughty ways. I've been thinking about playing some more again.

Dunno about xbox, but the PC game MWO mechwarrior online, does an excellent job picking up where the simulators left off. Better graphics, better customization and better balance between the mechs.

SWG on ground was pretty average, especially after the NGE. But the space combat was awesome, a real arcade simulation, a la X-Wing or Tie Fighter, where you could play with your shields, boost your engine, etc. Once I tried Jump to Lightspeed, I never bothered with the land part again, except to socialise or help my friends doing quest, or doing quest for more ship chassis... the fun I had the first time I flew my brand new YT-2400... sigh...
I may have missed out, but not much. I moved on to city of heroes, then WOW and then EVE where I got all the space I could want. You should try TOR, the ships are fun, you live in your big one, and the ground stuff is actually engaging.
I got to alderaan and hit a wall with my Sith, tried the on rails flying was far from impressed but I haven't played it for a while.
This... really doesn't look like much aside from the old Star Wars Trilogy Arcade game of the late '90s by Sega with a graphical overhaul and being inside of a pod.
That said, it still looks like fun, just not very deep! :3
I was a Disney World all day today and went to this huge arcade in Tomorrowland. No Battlepod. =(
