Question on the Aftermath scenario and troop deployment

By Binderchk, in Imperial Assault Campaign

On the aftermath scenario, As for the rules of the door opening, The “fortified” sections says “The first time the door is opens”, the book states that you deploy the E-Web Engineer on the yellow point and deploy the Reserved Storm trooper group and Imperial Officer in the storage room.

Now in the “Lockdown” Section it says “At the end of the round in which the door opens for the first time”, The Imperial player chooses to either increase the terminals health or close the door making the door harder to open. If he chooses to close the door the red deployment point is now active. So since the deployment point in the storage room is red, does this cause the deployment effect of the reserve troops and Imperial officer or do they just deploy as an effect of the opening of the door? If the door is closed does this make that red point active and thus allow you to use threat points to bring in more troops On this point?

It seems to me the “Fortified” section should have came before the “lockdown” section or the deployment of the troops in the “Fortified” section should have stated the red section like it does in the E-Web Engineer to deploy at the yellow deployment point. Or do the Storm troopers and office just deploy any were with in the storage room

Thanks

Steve

Just interpretet it litterally. When the door opens you deploy the E-web at a yellow point and the troopers anywhere in the storage room. This does not cause the red deployment zone to become active. If you lock the door it becomes active and you can use it to deploy and reinforce to.

For "Fortified" you have a choice:

  • The terminals become tougher.

    =OR=
  • You lock the door and gain access to the red deployment point.

Also note that the order in which the the events are listed in the book are not always the order in which they are resolved. You only read and execute the specified event when their prerequisite game action triggers them. (Such as opening the door for the first time, or At the end of the round the door was opened)
