Do Flame weapons penetrate the Vehicle Armour like any other armour?

By egalor, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Although I know, it's realistic, but Flamer's Pen=6 makes it a bane for vehicles, IMHO.

Am I right?

I would think that most tanks and armoured vehicles have higher than 16 AP, so I can't imagine a flamer causing too much harm, but even so, flame weapons in general have always been the bane of armor. Then again, its not the tank that I would be worried about, I would be more concerned if the petroleum somehow seeped through the seams and got into the drivers compartment. That would make for an interesting day.

what kind of flamer are you using with a pentration of 6, my core book lists it as Pen 3.

Also flame weapons have always been the bane of tanks, they are capable of pouring though any small gaps in the armour/hull (ie air vents, viewing ports etc) Also a prolonged spray of fire will actually heat the insides of the vehicle and can cook the crew inside the vehicle.

Apologies, it's 3 Pen, indeed.

Anyway, thanks, the question is answered.
