ARC 170s (again)

By mazz0, in X-Wing

You know they don't have the prequel license to make games because if they did they would be under contract to do so. Franchise contracts always include specific outline of what the purchaser will do with the license, how much they will produce, when the releases will be, even how much money they are expected to make. These are obligations, they aren't optional. If FFG had the license there would board and card games for it.. If you want to see what a franchise obligation looks like, take a look at Game of Thrones and Warhammer for example. There is something new in each of those franchises from FFG every year and its like that because they are legally obligated to do it while they hold the license.

You do realize that isnt exactly how contracts work right? They dont have to be under contract to make prequel ship just to have the contract so that they can make them if they wished to.

In fact I am almost positive that FFG has a license for ALL STAR WARS game making, they have made some prequel stuff for he LCG. Dooku, the Jedi faction have cards in that game. There is no way in hell that FFG has the ability to make cards for the LCG and not ships or cards for Xwing.

They have the Star Wars liscence in general, and have chosen which ships and cards to make for Xwing.

And so far that has not been to make any purely prequel ships other than the ARC-170!

Soory, BigKahuna but your argument has just been shot down like a pathetically piloted Z-95.

I understand it fine. Count Dooku appears in Rebels, its why they can make that card same as the ARC 170.

Yes he appears in the prequels, he also appears in Rebels.

Dooku never once appears in Rebels. I've seen every episode so far (both seasons) no Dooku. You are likely thinking of him being in Clone Wars....not the same show!

I cant see how you are still with this argument even.

You havent produced a SHRED of EVIDENCE about your idea that they dont have a prequel license! Then when I prove to you that FFG does have the license by statign that they have made prequel characters for the lcg, including an entire FACTION in the LCG having to do wih the Jedi- prequel Jedi! You still continue the argument by swapping to some proposterous claim that Dooku is in Rebels...he is long dead by Rebels (like 15 years dead!), Darth Maul is in Rebels, you probably are thinking of him.

Or you are just a troll!

No more arguing. More important stuff is afoot.

Like my ARC-170 that just arrived in the mail. This may be the most beautiful ship i own.

Umm, so any good ARC squads that don't rely on Biggs? I'd like to keep it to clone wars era ships if possible.

nope

seriously, slow speed and one agility makes Biggs your crutch

got him? need him. love him!

he makes ARCs work

he also lets them outjoust everything from x7 defenders to the new hotness in the Fang fighters (yes, the ARCs are at range 1 but Biggs is at range 2 so...eat ****)

more info https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/227711-an-ode-to-biggs-also-he-may-be-why-rebels-cant-have-nice-things/?hl=biggs

so until we get Biggs in an ARC (plzplzplzplzplzplzplz) it's gonna be two ARCs escorting their new generation baby X

A lot of rebel players do.

but yeah WANT

First one came in the mail today. It's even better looking in real life. :D

Can't wait to give it a try.

Where did you get it in the mail from?

And yeah I got my copy from Gencon and it is beautiful! i love the weathered paint job look

GenCon via eBay. My normal Ninja Shopper didn't go this year so I've had to resort to paying extra to get what I want, when I want. But a couple of bucks extra for a couple of months early is worth it for the ARC. :)

So you gave into the price gougers, ugh.

If you consider $5 more price gouging, sure. I only paid $30 total for mine, and $5 of that was shipping. If it was $40, i could see price gouging.

It's not as much of a problem as it used to be. Back in the day when FFG didn't make much X-Wing stock and their releases sold out almost immediately people would buy a ton released product specifically to put it on eBay for inflated prices: buying it just encouraged them and was thus frowned upon. Now FFG's supply issues are sorted out there's no supply issue and it's not worth it outside of GenCon and the like.

I got a fortune cookie today

What a beautiful story :D hoping they arrive here soon, too!

Here's the squad I've been flying:

ARCs Regen

Norra Wexley

crew.png Tail Gunner

modification.png Vectored Thrusters
Thane Kyrell

Braylen Stramm

Doing alright so far. I'm really not convinced that Biggs would bring a lot to the party that Thane doesn't bring. More importantly, it's fun and they look amazing!

Also, here are my dials:

Those dials look absolutely amazing.

Is that a heavy wash? How did you seal the paintwork?

That's my only worry with painting stuff you'll be handling a lot (coming from a scale model background it's a bit alien to me...)

Three or four coats of Games Workshop's satin varnish to seal it. Might give it some more since it hasn't affected the finish, and they are going to take a lot of rubbing.

Yeah, the wash is a lot of Nuln Oil and some Agrax Earthshade for the extra dirty bits.

Thanks, they look stunning.
