Oh come on, she'd be untouchable! At least taking boost off means she can't take autothrusters...
Edited by mazz0ARC 170s (again)
I think it would be pretty similar to the scyx but priced better.
2 attack
3 agility
1 shield
2 hull
Focus, TL, evade, and barrel actions
Astromech and torpedo slots
A ps2 generic would probably cost 14 or 15 points. And I do hope they get at least one generic.

I was trying to think of something similar to Luke's ability,
but you're right, I'm putting too little value on the focus results,
because I compared it to Luke's definite evade result.
If it was only one it would be worse than Luke's that's why I doubled it.
Possible alternative: when you perform a barrel roll you gain an evade token.
Anyway, someone post more photos of the ARC-170,
I'm not trying to derail this thread.
I wouldn't mind seeing it next to a K-wing.

You're Not. I want to fly K ARC too.
You know what kills me? If they do bring out the N-1, there is one pilot going to be in it (just to appease the franchise) no one wants.... Anikin Skywalker (the kid)
I'd run him in every list... just to get him killed.
Now THAT'S Pod Racing!
I just can't get over how much better the weathering looks compared to the previous ships!

The painted models on display look very different though.
Looks a lot worse in my opinion, the grey that's exposed doesn't look right, it looks like the plastic of the model.
They've got completed blisters already? Model prototypes are one thing but actual packaged blisters?
Who knows, this might actually release when it says it will.

They don't look as bad as my first quick attempt at a digital repaint.
There is quite a difference though.
They added grey to the top left wing instead of leaving it dirty looking.
And they added yellow to the nose. And took the red off the top right wing.
And the weathering on the ends of both main wings is not the same anymore.
It looks like they didn't leave the droid the same color either.

You know. I've never been a fan of the Arc-170. Always thought the different parts of it looked too disproportionate, but seeing it next to the k-wing there really drives home how hideous and stupid the k-wing looks. When I am looking back and forth between the two ships here, every time I shift focus back to the Arc and away from the k-wing, I can feel my eyes relaxing a little.

To be fair I could see that happening if you just went back an forth between the bases: I had to rotate the K-wing image to match the angle of the ARC and then resize, and as a result the K-wing isn't as sharp... The straight lines became slightly jagged and the whole thing blurred a bit, so the ARC becomes much easier on the eyes for its clarity. Factor that out plus consider the K-wing more a Helicopter type gunship design than a fighter-bomber design and they balance out more.
My point is its got it it's own reasons for being so different from the ARC-170.
Edited by gabe69velasquezNah, a long straight wing and a lot of hardpoints... they were going for this:
What bothers me about the K-wing is the terrible rear turret placement. It's also strange that it's the only ship in Star Wars to use ordnance hardpoints, but maybe it's a brand new technology invented for this mashine
I'll take two, please.

That and it's just frightfully ugly.

Did you know: Ryan Church, who designed the ARC-170 (and who also designed my favourite Star Citizen ship, the Retaliator*) also designed the inside of Vader's helmet face-piece that you see for a second or so in Revenge of the Sith? He did lots of other things too, dunno why that stuck in my head.*which looks like this (though I believe another artist drew the second picture):![]()

Nah, but bigger engines would look cool. Maybe they'll be available for purchase in-game...
I can sorta see what you mean about Mass Effect, but not 40K. Are 40K ships all kinda gothicy?

Ah, I see what you mean. I think that one could use bigger engines too.
Well the F-4 phantom is proof that if you add enough thrust, even a brick can fly. So more engines may be a worth wild mantra
