Are the production model ARC-170s different from the early release ARC-170s? I'm not talking lore-wise, I mean FFG's models for XWM. I ask because all the ones I have seen advertised or that were picked up at GenCon are BEAUTIFUL and come with a red paint scheme. The one I picked up from my FLGS last month came with a pretty "meh" paint job (that I had to repaint from scratch) in a blue paint scheme. I should have taken a picture of it but couldn't wait to paint it up ASAP. Its weird... every picture I see of FFG's ARC-170 model is the same, beautiful model and mine was crap. WTH?

My shadowcasters are from two different lgs thogh and one is DEFINETLY better painted than the other

May have been answered before but what is your opinion on a 4 point upgrade value.... Chewbacca or R2D2 on the ARC. I can do 7 points in upgrades on the Bay ARC and am trying to find the best combo.

Blue paint scheme? I know the paint quality can vary between models, it does for all ships, but I'm not aware of different coloured models.
I do think the preview images looked better than the finished model though.

I think the worn away coloured paint revealing the white undercoat beneath, as it does in the previews, looks considerably better than revealing the weird plasticy colour it reveals on the production models.

I would say R2-D2, especially on Norra. You're going to be doing greens anyway to clear your stress from PTL, and the ARC has lots of greens, so you'll often get more than 2 shields back that way, whereas Chewwy can only give you two in one game.

Reasoning behind certain choices:
Kyle with Moldy passes accumulated Focus tokens to Biggs for as long as he lives, then to Nora, while she focuses on Brolls and TLs.
VI on Kyle to help him drop some enemy tokens with his TLT before Nora shoots.
Could have put Recon Spec on Kyle instead of VT and IA, but there's no exceptional PS here, and I like how IA can help 2 out of 3 ships in the list (having reposition capabilities)
Using R5 on Biggs, as I don't have the Rebel Transport pack.

R2D2 (astro slot) and C3PO are amazing together. As long as you don't let yourself get focus fired you can proc both these upgrades a lot. They pay for themselves very easily. That's my experience so far.

Hmm, that seems like it might work! My initial reaction is that it's a lot of points on Kyle and I'm not sure how much damage he'll do, but I'm not super familiar with TLTs, so maybe it's a lot?

I feel like we need to take a page from the Gunbois’ book and start nagging FFG to give us ARCs with moving s-foils.
