My fault for being misleading by forgetting to capitalise Rebels. There are Separatist holdouts and a few people rebelling. The Rebel Alliance isn't a thing.
My problem with this argument is when Biggs & Porkins take on Tie Phantoms and Defenders.

You are going to have a similar problem if FFG releases Ace Azzameen as a rebel, shooting his beloved scum brother Emon Azzameen.
If how something fits in the lore bothers you so much, then maybe you should just consider not buying something? I mean, seriously, this is a game. The point of the game is to be fun and tactical. It just seems so ridiculous.

I will say that 40k's saving grace and top point is that anything can be justified.
Heresy era marines fighting grey knights? space magic/the warp!
Similarly, clone wars tech is easily justified as I previously have in this thread. (TLDR, pirates, upgrades, reserve units).
Edited by DariusAPBCase in point: I would never play a game wherein marines fight knights. Way too hokey. I also don't want the ARC-170 because it looks god awful and yes, it reminds me of prequel movies.
Again, I think the FFG CEO agrees at least in conclusion when he said the game is the Galactic Civil War going forward. Yes, there are ships in the game from prequel era, but not from the prequel movies. I believe that's what he was referring to, or else why would he even make the statement at all?
I am thinking he is referring to timelines, still it can be justified.
We're almost at fourteen pages, I'm sure they'll give in soon ![]()

But then again, the e-wing is twice as ugly and from a comic book that makes the prequel movies look like Citizen Kane, but in the game it works.

Why would he say that? That's like me saying I'm studying ancient history with a focus on the Roman Empire. Sure, it doesn't preclude the possibility that I'd study the Greeks, but we know from context that, with exceptions as applicable, I won't be. In the same vein, there's no other reason that I can think of for him to specially state that this game is the Galactic Civil War era going way forward except to send the message that ships found only in the prequel movies (save an obscure reference you can conjure to say Aha!) won't be introduced. When I'm wrong, you can say I told you so, but I think you're going to wait forever.

But this ship IS GCW, so it's a moot point ![]()

It was post clone wars, and appeared in galaxies as a cameo along with the Bellyrub and JSF.
Don't get me wrong, i want the ship in as imperial, as a ship they used for long range raiding/recon before they developed the Assault gunboat. but.. yeah.
Fluff is flexible, we only need a thin excuse!
You can't have it as Imperial though, it would be totally the wrong aesthetic! You must see that, surely?
Nope if it must be a part of the game empire gets it, you can have the sucky trade federation droid fighters.
Whats more it's supported by tarkin that imps use v-wings and arc's and rebels use droid fighters and control ships.

The resultant slaughter of kittens would probably make you feel really bad.
Tough. Rule of cool wins, and that clearly states that anything vaguely X-Wing shaped is Rebel. That's just how it goes, I don't care if they have to remake the prequels to make it fit!

I would be uninterested and refer you to my previous comment.
With a "tut" and shake of the head.

Personally I still think a pack should be released with 3-4 colour schemes with pilots for everybody. But yeah, an Imp grey version must exist.
Rule of cool dictates Imperials, as Imperials are cool, and rule.

It's the wrong shape for starwars but you want it added.

And again I ask, what else could Peterson refer to, and for what other purpose, when he said this game is the GCW going way forward? To inform us it's not going backward in time? To inform us it's not going to join with Star Trek? No, the message is clear: the game will not include prequel movie ships.
Edited by z0m4dNo, the message is clear: the game will not include prequel movie ships.
And why not. If the game is about the Galactic Civil War and the ARC played a role in that war, then there's enough wiggle room to include it. I won't complain. It's a good looking ship and it would be a shame if FFG bowed to the wishes of fanboys who prefer derivative pulp over actual Star Wars films.
