Kath, Cow and the Flies

So after testing out a previous list a few times I was going to take to a tourny, I was just very underwhelmed. It's not just that I was losing with it, but I just didn't click with it.

Will be trying this list below, but please let me know if there are any glaring weaknesses I don't see.

Kath is there for Phantom protection. If she loses initiative, I move second and have a better chance to line my my shots, if she goes first I have a chance to shoot at uncloaked Phantoms. Between the Flechette Torpedo, her [crit] ability and gunner, I'm hoping she puts on stress on the highly maneuverable things that hate it.

Vader for crits. Expecting to face decimators and other fatties.

2x Obsidians are there initially to escort the Space Cow and block if convenient. The reason I chose them over Academies is that at least initially I want them to shoot before the Space Cow to give Vader the best chance of landing his crits on the target.

Maybe this.. gives you initiative bid as well, I think you have too much going on with Kath, personally..

the Intimidation is good for getting in the way of your opponents, or gibe them Stay on Target, it gives the BSPs more versatility. I'm not one who feels that using SoT means you can't fly a ship. it means that those trixy phantoms aren't always easy to find, so you hunt them this way.. of course, if its Echo or Whisper then you're humped.. lol.. also if the other guy is flying low PS pilots, you can follow them all day.. I have had some pretty good success with BSPs against phantom lists and some others as well good clean fun..

Problem with that list is that I don't own 2x Decimators or YT2400's so those BSP builds are out.

I agree that Kath might be a little heavy, but if I were going to cut her down I'd just go with Fett + VI, EU. He always moves last and shoots first vs Phantoms, and without the reliability of gunner or any stress mechanic, I'd just want raw damage.

If you're really confident in your Firespray flying, I like this on Kath:

Kath Scarlet

Marksmanship

Tactician

Proton Bomb

In my experience, the Firespray has extended longevity and can really ruin an E-Wing's or another escort's day with a well-timed stress attack + Proton Bomb the next turn. I've also found that opponents tend to forget about the bomb the longer the game goes on, which can lead to a nice surprise down the road.

That's basically Scarlet Cowgirl. I love the list. I prefer Academy Pilots for blocking.

VI is a fine choice on Kath, but so Predator or Lone Wolf will increase your crit chance. If you want to bother with her ability. Lone Wolf might be harder to ensure with 4 ships on the board, though. Outmaneuver is also a great Firespray ability - often overlooked, it works from Rear Arc!

Omicron with Vader is bang on. No comments.

In casual games you can always proxy cards, or borrow from a friend.. I like Fett as well, but I'd run him as Fettigator and EU.. I think VI is overrated sometimes.. Fett at his normal PS is great. He is also so versitile that if you run into a higher PS phantom, you can kill its support ships first and then chase it down..

Just some thoughts is all.. let us know what you finally go with, and how it works out.
