Broken peg

By Rauhughes, in X-Wing

Hi guys,

After an intro game this week with a particularly clumsy freind one of my tie fighters pegs was broken off its stand. The peg is stuck inside the female port on the model, meaning I can't retrieve it to glue it back on. I could drill it out, but then it will be destroyed.

Is there anywhere to pick up replacement stsnds from? Third party or otherwise, I'm not fussed I just don't want to have to glue the fighter directly to the stand if I can avoid it.

Thanks

Stands/bases aren't sold seperately but I've heard people contacting FFG On numerous occasions and getting replacements directly from them (a recognised feather in the customer services cap of FFG)...

use a heated straight pin, or similar metal device and allow it to cool while inserted.. then slowly try to wiggle it out.. that is your best bet..

As for a replacement.. either message FFG or .. not sure how many ships you have but I have a ton of pegs for the game and if I broke one it wouldn't make a difference to me.. just use another .. but if you have limited ships and all pegs are precious.. then contact the company..

While this hasnt happened to me yet ive heard some people are able to use a tiney dril bit and a pin vice to remove the end of the peg. Ive also heard things like a small dab of super glue (I wouldnt try it seems like id just glue the peg in) or a modeling knife slipped into the flat side of the peg and used to drag the peg tip out enough to latch onto it with a pair of needle nose pliers.

mini micro drill bits work.. they sell them at most hobby stores. you will also need a mini micro drill bit holder as well..

Ahh yeah other people destroying your models is just part of miniature gaming, hated little kids coming up and picking up my 40k stuff only to drop and break it.

Try the pin trick if that don't work send an e-mail with a picture to ffg.
