there are better upgrades available to the decimator. However I wouldn't use EI for this purpose. I think EH would be better paired with gunner so you don't loose your damage output or a hull upgrade (yes). Due to the points of a decimator I like ruthlessness and nothing else to make up for all the points you pour into it.

It is a pretty steep price to pay though. Especially considering that by the time you get a chance to perform an action again the swarm will probably have had you in their sights for a turn or two.

That's not to say I wouldn't recommend Expert Handling, I would just advise against using it in conjunction with EI.

I would suggest Predator instead of Ruthlessness as it always works. When you face the Super Dash with Corran build (which appears to be quite popular) your Ruthlessness is wasted points.

Kind of the problem though. It's 5 points, or 5% of your total squad for the pair. For a bonus that works only in very specific situations, and leaves you defenseless for 2 turns.

The main reason to use barrel roll and boost is to either get enemy ships in your arc, or get you out of the arcs of enemy ships. The Decimator doesn't need to worry about the first bit, and it will be very rare that the barrel roll will do the second bit any better than a boost.

Keep in mind you're taking 2 stress for the privilege, it's just not worth it for such corner cases.

Even if you could, Engine Upgrade adds the [boost] action to your action bar. Experimental Interface allows you to do a second action as long as it's an [Action: xxx] Heading Upgrade card.

It still wouldn't work.

Expert Handling + Dauntless

Take green move to Ram. (Clears stress from Dauntless title, apparently)

Expert Handling to Barrel Roll.

Mild profit, as that ship likely still shoots you and then follows up for a predictable shot with your next green move

PTL + EU works though, and you can pop it off of isard
