I just picked up my copy of Guardians of Deephall at CSI.
Guardians of Deephall - Now Available
That preview of Mordrog is awesome..
He's a beast!
Enjoy, guys. These new monsters are awesome and the quest was really interesting.
Wendigo looks beast!
But a question, on the stealthy trait ("Each attack that targets this monster must roll 3 additional range beyond the normally required amount or the attack is a miss") I am assuming that only applies to ranged, yes?
Can someone give a brief description of the miniature-quality of this pack?
So I guess Mordrog is the only 4-14-4 character right?
Poor Grisban compared to Mordrog he is completely obsolete... too bad his Miniature seems to look much better than Mordrog's.
edit: stealthy also applies to melee attacks, FFG explicitly stated this and I think there is no reason why it should be different.

Nope, melee attacks too.
Wow, now Mordrog is incredibly better, very nice power-up.
On the contrary, the art is awful, IMO, now he seems Mordrog the Undead, rather than an Orc.

Yeah the appearant downgrade in character-art is alarming imo.
Their description about the H&M packs "Each hero and monster features completely new artwork and figure sculpts, matching the aesthetic of Descent Second Edition" starts to sound very cynical considering the previous downgrade in miniature quality and now even in the character art, especially because I think so highly of the base-game's art-quality... so much more personality and detail http://utopies-charlene.blogspot.co.at/2012/09/ffg-descent-second-edition-la-totale.html
So I guess the H&M packs "Crown of Destiny" and "Crusade of the Forgotten" start to look better and better... I thought FFG would make it tougher to decide which H&M packs to get, right now I feel let down by each of them. I guess there is still Heirs of Blood on the Horizon to look forward to.

Yep. To clarify, melee attacks (even those with reach) are taken to normally not require any range rolled, so with stealthy, they need at least 3- that means 1 more side of the blue die = miss for melee.

I agree, though I guess is not intrinsecally bad, but unfitting. With that disclaimer said, Mordog looks to be by the artist who did Silhouete, who's face/neck im still mourning. Her pose was also an odd choice. In my opinion, it should have been of running as shes mostly played (and known) as the dashing thief.
I'm more annoyed by the artstyle of who did Sahla, Jaes, and Gherinn. It has an unsharp colored pencil look that, dunno, in it things have a hard time popping. Jaes head looks like "The Scream" painting, and Gherinn has no highlights in its illustration which is a weird choice or overlook.
Corbin, Lord Hawthorn, Laurel, Shiver, Mok and the Crusade gals look great in terms of style.
I'm looking forward to the Visions of Dawn previews.
So, no mages in this set? Do you think there will be a set with no warriors and 2 mages?
So what do you guys think about the new OL reward card. I am obsessed with this card since I unpacked the box two weeks ago.
I really wish the OL could purchase some of these reward cards. Just so they see play. Right now there's a % of the game I don't use because getting these elements into the game is just very hard or very unlikely. It's a bit of a shame.

I agree with this. I mean, I don't want to trash the "balance" of the game by allowing the purchase of reward cards, but I do agree that it would be nice if there was more than one mechanic to getting some of these in the game. As you said, often, these parts of the game never come into play.
can somebody post some pictures?
would be really nice.
thanks in advance.
You could have as many as 4 rumor quests in play during act 1 if you are lucky in your draws. It is just a matter of playing enough campaigns to draw all the rumors.

How 4? I just can think a maximum of 3 (the 3 rumor cards the OL draws at the beginning of the campaign).

Apparently, I can't type. 3.
Yeah, it's on me since we don't play with Rumors. I guess that's the reverse side of the medal for not doing it
I recommend playing the rumors with the variant that search cards acquired during the rumor are worth 0 gold, and skip the shopping phase. Makes rumors way more playable for the OL as long as your heroes are okay with it! You can enjoy these fun overlord and hero reward cards without stressing about compromising the campaign!

Yes, at least a picture of the new Crypt dragon would be nice, there's nothing on the internet atm. Please.
I am suppose to receive my copy from CSI next week (in theory). If no pictures are posted by then, I will do so.
Moep, still waiting for Amazon to get it in stock in germany.
Got mine. First thing that really strange :
Wendigos were 2 squares monsters and are now 4 !
Really surprising, not sure it is an advantage
I don't know, monster groups that are 4 squares and have 3 in the group are rare, can only think of chaos beasts that fit that mold. Makes for pretty good blocking while having decent threat spread
Although i would like to see 2 square monsters get some more love as well.
Bane Spiders and Nagas are also 2x2 monsters that have 3 in the group.
