R5-K6 and Dutch! Making the terrible minutely less terrible!

So R5-K6 is pretty much the worst card in the game. He's a faulty fire control system. He's got a bad motivator... or something.

Most people would probably rather fit a Saboteur into their list than this little red scrap pile.

That said, if you're going to put him on anyone, why not put him on Dutch?

If you somehow manage to roll an EVADE with the droid, then not only do you get to re-aquire your target lock, a friend will get to take out a lock as well! Not too shabby. If you can roll well. Which you can't. I've heard.

Make it a BTL-A4 and you've got potentially 3 TL's to pass to allies.

R5-K6 is almost playable with Dutch.

R5-K6 is DEFINITELY playable with Dutch and BTL-A4

So R5-K6 is pretty much the worst card in the game.

Oh come on. The decimator doesn't improve expose THAT much.

if only you could add crew to the Y-Wing, C3PO would be perfect

So R5-K6 is pretty much the worst card in the game.

Oh come on. The decimator doesn't improve expose THAT much.

Elusiveness is worse than either.

K6 is decent in his Thematic Pilot: Garven Dreis.

It allows Garven to have F+TL shots every few rounds. to get him to do that every round you need R2-D6 + PTL and even then it costs you a stress and tends to Force greens.

K6 is terrible on the E-Wing, but on the Y's or X's it has some merit even while not being 100% reliable.

I liked your comment because you posted pictures so I don't have to google them myself.

And because that sounds like a decent way to use him.

So R5-K6 is pretty much the worst card in the game.

Elusiveness could be alright on Ibtisam or Keyan. Or on someone with the Kyle crew.

Elusiveness + Porkins w/ R5-D8. "The Rebel TIE Defender" 31pts.

So R5-K6 is pretty much the worst card in the game.

It really isn't, particularly now that Stay On Target and Experimental Interface have joined Push the Limit as better stress inducers.

Kyle crew's a nice touch, though.

For last years store champs, I ran garven, Dutch and 2 Bs. In... I don't even remember how many games... over like 4 tournaments.... He activated an average of 2times a game. Not really worth it. I ended up replacing him with an r2 unit just to green up Dutch's dial.

His problem is that he's an R5

Also, he's that guy's picture ^^^
Not that that's his problem, just happy coincidence

R5-K6 is a rebel spy and traitor. Take it away!

I've run 3x Gold + Ion Cannon Turret

and Dutch + Ion Cannon Turret + R5-K6

it's hilarious when it works. Bounty Hunter walked off the board without any retaliation shot. True story.

Both of the Wave 1 R5 droids suffer from the problem of Green Dice (and D8 also costs you your action). For the cards to be worth using at all would require something that allowed you to ignore this inhibitor.

still seems terrible :P

Dutch seems like more an R2 astro or R7-T1 kind of guy

This post seems a little late. I think Dutch and R5-K6 was like the first card combo I ever tried in this game. I don't think the combo is bad, but timing wise its like coming back and saying that Howelrunner with a bunch of TIEs flying in formation around it is a good combo.

It seems pretty obvious that R5-K6 was designed for Dutch. The cards do come in the same pack.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say that it is the worst. It defiantly isn't as good as we would like. The fact that it only activates on a 3/5 chance is pretty unexciting.

The fact that it only activates on a 3/5 chance is pretty unexciting.

3/8 chance (3 times out of 8 tries)

or 3:5 (3 activations to 5 failures)

What? Math nazi's exist!

Seriously FFG needs to erata some of these old cards.

If R5-K6 acted kind of like Lando he'd be quite useful. On an evade assign a TL on a Focus assign a focus. Instead of a 5/8s of a chance of doing jack, its down to 3/8s.

Elusiveness would be great if you could gain a stress to have the attacker re-roll all dice.

If R5-K6 where just an astromech fire control, I'd be happy :)

Sure, dutch would be nuts, but the man is a PS 6 Y-wing forgoing access to the EPT droid. He deserves to do something a little crazy :P

And Elusiveness would indeed make a great R7 astro with a stress requirement rather than target-lock.

still seems terrible :P

Dutch + R7-T1 + BTL4 Title + Autoblaster Turret. So Target Lock, boost up, 2 shots at range 1; 3 dice on primary and 3 dice on turret. Yum.

As previously noted R5-K6 on Dutch is not a new combo but rather one that has been around since conception and is possibly the high point of the droid's uses.

disagree. the reason to take garvin is to have him focus every single turn. anytime you don't focus, you are losing the extra focus that you always get. (unless there is no one in range). I actually still run garvin a good bit. If you are having him take TL as an action, you're doing it wrong. Just like dutch should TL every time, Garvin should focus every time.

If you want re-rolls on Garven, you bring Dutch, Airen, or spring for an EPT slot and predator :P
