I'm looking into a few different lists for an upcoming tournament, and would love to get your thoughts on these.
I really like having Chewie with Predator + Gunner since our local meta seems to favor rebel swarms. In the last tourney, out of 9 lists, 5 had at least 2 ships with PS2 or lower. Of the other 4, 2 had Phantoms.
That being said, in the 2 previous tourneys, the top 2 lists were respectively 2 Han + support lists and 2 Chewie+Leebo lists.
List A: ChewbAAAcca
- Chewbacca (55) Predator, Gunner, Engine Upgrade, Millennium Falcon
- 3 x Prototype Pilot (15) Chardaan Refit
- Total: 100pts
List B: Mugged by a Wookiee
- Chewbacca (51) Predator, Gunner, Millennium Falcon
- 4 x Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
- Total: 99pts
- Possible variation: Engine Upgrade on Chewbacca , instead of Predator .
List C: Biggs Walks the Wookiee
- Biggs Darklighter (25)
- Chewbacca (51) Predator, Gunner, Millennium Falcon
- 2 x Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
- Total: 100pts
List D: Positive Wookiee
- Chewbacca (50) Predator, Gunner
- 2 x Green Squadron Pilot (25) Push the Limit, Proton Rockets
- Total: 100pts
I like List A because it allows me to fly A-Wings, which I've never taken to a tourney, and it let's me fit Engine Upgrade on Chewbacca.
I like List B because of the 4 Bandit mini-swarm. I'm not sure if I prefer having the extra Bandit, or the superb maneuverability of the A-Wings (and the EU on Chewie).
I like List C because of Biggs. I think it's a nice counter to turrets, and would plan on flying Biggs behind/to the outside of Chewie, with Chewie's large base hopefully letting him get a range one shot off, while forcing the opponent to take a range 3 shot on Biggs. The 2 Bandits would come in as a flank, and will probably be ignored - everyone seems to underestimate Bandits, even our local rebel swarm players think they stink.
List D? Simply because Proton Rockets and Push the Limit A-Wings are fun. Also, they make a good counter to large, low-agility turrets, leaving Chewbacca to clean up the rest.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Tweaks? Other options?
