Only its players will.
Tip o' the hat to FFG for coming up with a system that engenders such amazing enthusiasm, debate, and thrill. There really is nothing quite like it.

Armada holds no interest for me, looks like each game is going too take to long time, what I like about X-Wing is the fast and easy style. Takes about 1h to play a game and an extra 5-10min set-up. That's perfect for me
Edited by FnordsI played Armada at Gen-con and it is a very good game it is not a fast seat of your pants game like X-Wing. It is much more about thinking several turns ahead due to you deciding your actions several turns ahead of performing them.
Nah. I don't see Armada being nearly as successful as X-wing. I love the idea of capital ships, but the entry fee is quite high.
You'll have to weigh out the fact that you can buy 6 X-wing expansions(small base) for the price of 1 Armada core set.
I can see X-wing living very easily to 2020. The new movies will help a lot.

I don't think Armada will take all that long. You are capped at 6 rounds. I suppose you can play longer, but the standard game has a time limit cap.
Edited by Jo JoI thibk the price is what will make armada different from xwing
Xwing is so much easier and affordable to get into.
I may buy into armada, but i don't expect any of my current xwing friends will.
But at 100 dollars for the core set and then 35-45 for the expansion, not including the fighters ( not sure if they are sold separately but i think they are)
I don't expect armada to go as mainstream as xwing has, but I'm sure it'll do alright
Didn't mean to derail the thread
Wasn't answering "Armada" to "this game will never die" but rather "there is nothing like it"
Star Wars FFG product, after all, I'm sure it'll be just as exceptional
