Just a fun list to see how it does, it's different than my 2 bomber 2 TIE list in that the only upgrades are ordnance and no Jonus.

List is this..

3X Gamma, w cluster missiles and prox mines

2X Academy pilots

99 points.

Going to try it out in our league games today and see if I can get a few more wins. I'll miss the black squads with stay on target, but 3 bombers should be fun.. May change ordnance as the day goes on, depends on what I come up against, or try to drop Jonus back in for rerolls

Looks great but I would take the Doom Shuttle instead of the 2xAP. Love Cluster/Prox Bombers, they eat Large ships for breakfast, and even Phantoms have a hard time once you start dropping mines

Especially since you can drop a prox on them before they kove.. hehe.. I'm not a huge fan of the Doom... I don't like giving my opponent points.. lol but it might be an option, maybe I'll drag a great white manatee with me today..

Prox and cluster is such a nice combo, because you approach to R1-R2 fire off clusters, next round you do a 4 forward (or something similar) and drop prox. That’s 3+3+3=9 red dice of hurt VS a ship with 0-1 agility

take the manatee, and try using a naked Yorr instead of a doomshuttle. that way you can perform red maneuvers and drop bombs afterwards. those hard turns and the possible 5k bomb drop may surprise someone

Doom shuttle is giving your opponent points but its keeping the rest of your squad alive to delivery munitions. They have to engage and try to kill the shuttle first. Its the Imperial Biggs. If they don't, they are going to be eating crits all day.

could still be a possible option, might try it if the list fails as is.. I like the idea of Yorr and soaking up stress..

Well this ran really well for me today. 3 wins in a row. Put me at the top of the league .. at the moment.. lol it was fun and caused a little havoc. Proximity mines were fun, as always. Cluster missles did their thing pretty well too.

1st game I took out a Z95 in the second, first round of combat and 3rd round finished off a heavily damaged Ywing.. 2nd game a prox mine did the heavy lifting for me.. he had one damage on his ship and rolled 2 hits and a crit.. hehehe.. good times.

3rd game was good for me but the player didn't know of the Phantom well and due to a miscalculation flew it off the board early. And I chased the decimator all around until our time ran out.. I had him down to 3 hull..

Oneway - do you mind posting your most succesful bomber list? I'm interested in running one over the weekend for fun; mainly just learning how to fly them.

I have a 2 bomber, 2 BSP lost that did well also.. I'll try to post it here later today.

If you're not bringing anyone to give the other Bombers more actions I'd drop the munitions and take three Scimitars with Proximity Mines for 57 points. You can then field Howlrunner along with the Academy pilots having another ship in your squad at 99 points. I just wish I actually had the Proxy mines or the Clusters to try them out as I love flying my Bombers but lack those key weapons.

Now that I see that the three are 57 points I really want the two mines I need so I can run them with Phantom Hunting Fett as they have issues with those ships.

After my disaster with a list including Vader Fett, and dark curse... I am thinking bombers may be my forte... lol might run another all bomber list soon..

List looked decently effetive, and it sounds like it performed well enough in real life!

I know that someone did Doomshuttle + 4 Scimitars with Prox Mine. Said it worked decently well, but still had a hard time against well flown Phantoms in the end.

I like your choice of cluster missiles and prox mines. Esp against big ships.

This is a possible other option. Gives you many different resilient ways to deal damage. I would expect anti-Phantom is easier with 3 Prox Mines though. With a little hothie drunken shark you could probably do enough damage with Howl and Concussion and 2 Prox Mines to make it similar.

Well.... Today tried a coup!le lists.. The one that did well was

3 obsidian TIEs.. And

3 bombers with prox lines.

If I can try it against another list or two I should be able to figure out what it's good for and then maybe tweak it for better results.

6 ships definitely isnt bad.

How about try it vs Fnords list? I could his focus firing being very very good for swatting ties.

And just for the heck of it, cuz your list does seem to be okay against these things, how about Chiraneau and Whisper? =) Tip top meta!

Been on this losing streak too long.. lol I need a jumpstart to victories..

Was thinking of another 2 bomber list with both named pilots and then fill in with TIEs and maybe an albino manatee.. just have to look at it and see what comes out.. lol
