Imperial Fighter Exp. is "On the Boat" --Wait, what?

By R22, in Star Wars: Armada

It's the only Armada item, besides the dice, and is a recent addition as of today I believe. Um, could this be a mistake? Because why would they ship things out piecemeal?

Either way: Hilarious.

Probably, but that would be hilarious

We'd have the least interesting games of armada possible with players going "you move first," "no you go first," "by all means, fly into distance 1 for me," "no no, you first, I insist..."

Heheheh.

Gee, someone's teasing us something bad!! :(

Maybe it means that your TIE Fighters will automatically have a certain amount of EXP unlocked -ready for your first engagement! $$$ :D

It is important to note 'On the Boat' doesn't mean they will ship as soon as they arrive. FFG might be shipping them over as they are completed to save space (I assume a large number of preorders were placed based on how much excitement I see for the game) on subsequent shipments. They might just store the dice and fighters (and everything else) until everything is ready and arrived then send them all out together.

Especially with the Chinese New Year thing coming up they might want to get all they can out of there quickly before work stops.

Lol

YES!!!!!!!! I will be winning all my games since no one else will have any ships to fly

Silly FFG

Still, it's a sign that stuff is on the move.

So hooray for The Boat!

And, for good measure:

This.

Realistically, it's seems more plausible that FFG will be releasing everything from core and Wave 1 at once. It also makes sense for them to get stuff shipped to them when it become available, rather than have a whole mountain of shipments to go through all at once.

It actually makes good sense that the fighters and dice are ready first. Neither one requires any hand painting like all of the capital ships. This makes their manufacture relatively simple and less labor intensive. As stated earlier, this doesn't mean they will actually be released until the core and other ships are available.

In the meantime, the rebel fighters seem to be laggards.

just like in the game ^_^

We automatically win if they don't show up, right?

Well, they won't be there to dispute your claim...

Emperial fighter are the only one ships of the wave 1 to don't have the possibility of traveling in hyperspace. So they come by boat. The rest will come by lightspeed :D

...which explains the recent up-tick in banana futures...

This whole thread has become unexpectedly beautiful. Thank you.

I do imagine that when the fighters do come off the boat, that FFG will sit on th em until the Core arrive s.

I do hope the contrary, though. It would be nice to play my first game of Armada with painted fighters.

Hoping the Rebs make a quick jump into hyperspace, and beat the Imps here: I have 2 core boxes and 2 Reb fighter packs worth of teeny squadron markings to paint! 24 squadrons, I think?

Yes 24, 4 x-wings in each core, and 8 squadrons per expansion :)

I post this video on these forums as well when anyone says on the boat
