Word has i that wave 6 should be available in the first 2 weeks of feburary, mid store championship season. Does this mean if it's released, it will be available for play in store championships after that?

The current version of the tournament rules state that all products are legal, so I'd allow it as soon as the "now available" post went up on the home page.

This is a departure from earlier tournament rules that gave explicit lists of legal product, making new releases not legal until the tournament rules were updated.

Fair point, which I guess you could use to prevent people from playing Scum in a tournament you were running (but not from using the wave 6 upgrades). Personally, I'd still let people play scum because it makes more sense to allow all of wave 6 instead of just the upgrades that can be used by Rebels or Imperials (and using the new stuff is more fun than not using it).

The rules also say they are for the 2014 season, so presumably they will release an updated rules.

It will also be interesting to see if they add the addition of Debris Fields, as the current rules specifically say "Asteroids" for obstacle placement.
