So that style I don't like? It's totally terrible.

You guys. Other players, may of them independent adults geographically separated from me by hundreds of miles and potentially of different nations, might be playing this game differently than me. I know that it is hard to believe, but some of them have the gall to argue that they can do what they want with their friends and using their plastic toys that they paid for with their money. It's antinomianism all over again.

Let us be clear: these people are barbarians. Their ill-considered pursuit of fun has made this game all but unplayable to me. I cannot continue knowing that someone out there in the digital ether prefers a certain faction, an alternate style, or even a different canon (even the phrase canon points inarguably to the notion of divine inspiration!). Until FFG rewrites their rules to better suit my own objectively superior notion of the Real, I will have no choice but to begin excommunicating players who dramatically misunderstand the true nature of this game.

Let's be realistic, some people have some awfully small calibre head-canons.

If we have not the law, then have we nothing?

Ha. As an imperial player you would think that.

Jk. Nice name btw

Mate, ALL my flying is on a wing and a prayer, so to speak...

...and don't get me started on the "gods" that play with the fate of my dice rolls...

objectively superior notion of the Real

This one actually can't be argued, it's a desert, of sorts~

I cannot continue knowing that someone out their in the digital ether prefers... a different canon (even the phrase canon points inarguably to the notion of divine inspiration!)

"Canon", with the meaning we use, certainly draws an analogy to the meaning of canon in the Catholic church--but according to the Oxford English Dictionary, its sense as a standard for judgment or a set of officially approved knowledge has been around since the 1600s. And in fact the word comes ultimately from the Greek "kanon", which originally meant a measuring rod and also more generally referred to a rule or standard.

So the church by no means has a lock on "canon". (And the word "inarguably" is essentially a dare in my house.)

Get out of here, Baudrillard. It should be obvious that "the person must give himself an external sphere of freedom in order to have being as Idea. The person is the infinite will, the will which has being in and for itself, in this first and as yet wholly abstract determination. Consequently, this sphere distinct from the will, which may constitute the sphere of its freedom, is likewise determined as immediately different and separable from it" (Elements of the Philosophy of Right 73). X-Wing is t he game in which we place our wills in order to make them manifest. It is no desert, but a concretized image of the infinite. Playing incorrectly, clearly, has consequences.
And Vorpal, of course you think that you protestant.

There is only ONE solution!

Nuke em from orbit, it's the only way to be sure...

I play exactly like you, Fel.

When my girlfriend tells me she's pregnant, I think to myself "What would Fel do?".

If I meet someone who does not play the game the same way as you, I punch them in the throat for you.

I have a small plastic model of your ship, Fel, and I use it in every game I play in order to be closer to you.

Please continue to shine your light on every corner of this dark world, so that the ignorant may be illuminated and come closer to your perfection.

I'm an X-Wing agnostic. I can't tell if Fel really exists.

I call upon the senate to remove primitive Jedi influence from our schools by banning the force!

He not only exists, but once autothrusters are out, he will become immortal....

My name is Darth Norris,

I approve this.

I don't disagree with the sentiment; but if it belongs anywhere this topic belongs in the Off-Topic forum.

Chuck Norris jokes don't get old they just get more awesome.

Alternatively, you are posting that something is "old" on a silly thread about a space ship game themed on movies from the 70's and 80's using physics from a war that was over in the 40's.

Mr. Baron! Mr. BaronFel Sir! I believe we have another application for excommunication!

This really should be addressed in the inevitable second edition of XWMG;

Mr. BaronFel Sir can post whatever he likes, wherever he likes. When he does, that is the topic.

It really should be the first line of the rulebook. Maybe they should even print it on the cover as the subtitle.
