More star wars !

By Baytor, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I find myself totally addicted to imperial assault I can hardly wait forfuture installments.

So I started to 'shop around'.

I noticed that the star wars miniatures range from wotc has so many great mini's to add to this game.Sure the stormtroopers are a bit off but characters like tarkin, the throned emperor, droids, and so many vehicles and stuff fits so perfect it makes me jump for joy.

So what else is out there that has a great size/size match to be used as scenery, or even figures (with some self made rules), can anyone tell me?

Maybe even resin parts scenery not made for star wars in mind but with great fitting scale?

For more floorplans I found that legions of steel has some great ship floorplates in the style of space hulk (but cheaper and a bit lesser quality but great for star wars)

Reaper miniatures Chronoscope line has some good miniatures to be used as smugglers, bounty hunters etc. Their Pathfinder range has some possibilities for conversions into Jedi (some of the wizards, and a demonborn, cant remember specifically). Games Workshop stuff i have used for soldiers. Their Imperial Guard can be painted grey and black for Imperial Troops. Heck, i even painted a few Necrons white for new Imperial Storm Droids (prior to the release of WOTC stuff). Dark Eldar make some cool looking Sith, which look fine with swords and blades, but you could swap for lightsabers. The Tau tank makes a good stand in for the Clone Wars Battledroid Tank, especially if painted in same colours.

And of course, Games Workshop 40k Orks pass as a variety of Gammoreans!

Hasslefree has a Jedi family at the moment, and cool "lightsaber" blades of coloured plastic. I think CMON had a Jedi miniature based on Force Unleashed. Heresey Miniatures has a halfling sized "vader" model with flaming sword which is funny!

Plenty of miniature manufacturers out there with cool stuff you can put in a Star Wars game. Its a big galaxy after all!

I surprised as much as a fan you seem to be that you didn't know about the Star Wars miniatures that Wizards of the Coast made? That's what I am thinking of using. Have every figure except the new heroes made for this game.

Star Wars paper scenery here: http://swminiature.free.fr/download_decors3d.htm

these were really good, made maze upon maze for a death star! There are also 2d play maps on there that were used for the Star Wars Miniatures game by WOTC

as well as lots and lots of other pieces which would fit the game.

Hirstsarts Moulds offered some great ways to make plaster scenery. But its expensive.

world works games has loads of scenery for you to print out and turn into 3d models.

vehicles for scenery go here: http://www.ghostofman.com/Model.htm

and check these Star Wars diorama pieces : http://www.niubniubsuniverse.com/download/00downloadmenu.asp

Loads of manufacturers have sci fi, urban and dungeon scenery which you could use too. depends on your budget!

Great stuff!
