I'm not a fan of the concept, but if I were to incorporate it, I'd turn it from 3 separate attacks to one singular attack, allowing things like Brace to be more effective in countering it. Also, I'd probably up the cost to something like 10-15 points per ship. A dramatic increase in efficiency, at the cost of number of ships on the table. But at that point, you've essentially turned multiple small ships into Voltron.
Capital ship Divisions
If I was going to put squadrons into the game, I'd be looking at 2 key points:
- The squadron is defined during deployment, and is then fixed for the battle. This would mean that all ships in the squadron activate as one, and must stay within a certain distance of each other. (There should be a penalty for being out of squadron range.) Optionally, you may choose to break the squadron during the battle, but may not then reform it.
- To avoid the issue of squadrons just being used to slam a load of firepower in before opponents can act, how about saying that squadrons cannot activate before individual ships have done so?

We worked it out over this topic that that would be VERY OP. If nothing else the targ wet has probably already exhausted its defence tokens on previous attacks, and therefore "Cannot repel firepower of that magnitude!"
If anything they should go before other ships
