B-Wing Ten Numb question

By ReddyRoxx, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I have a discussion about ten numb ability with my friends, them say that i can't choose which dice cannot be canceled.

Please, explain me about these situations:

1- ten numb roll crit, crit, hit

enemy ship roll evade, evade, blank

i believe the dices are match with hit - evade, crit - evade, crit - blank and ten numb inflict 2 damages, 1 for the crit - blank and other from crit - evade from the ten numb ability.

but them say the ten numb ability will go on the crit - blank dice and i will inflict only 1 damage.

2- ten numb roll crit, crit

enemy ship roll evade

them say that will be crit - evade, crit - no dice, but the ability of ten numb will go on the crit - no dice and ten numb will inflict only 1 damage.

please, answer my question.

When attacking, 1 of your White-Attack01.png results cannot be cancelled by defense dice.

ten-numb.png

1- ten numb roll crit, crit, hit

enemy ship roll evade, evade, blank

- Cancel hit with evade.

- Cancel crit with evade.

- Common area holds red crit and green blank.

One crit is not cancelled which satisfies the pilot ability.

2- ten numb roll crit, crit

enemy ship roll evade

- Cancel crit with evade.

- Common area holds one red crit.

One crit is not cancelled which satisfies the pilot ability.

In both cases the pilot ability does not do anything.

I'd pull the one crit die to the side as the unblockable crit and then just cancel the rest of the dice like normal. It works out the same as what dvor described but makes more sense to me that way.

That's how I do it also. Push one crit to one side, as it can't be cancelled by dice OR evade tokens. After that, the opponent tries to cancel the rest of the dice with evades as normal.

I thought that Ten Numb's ability only applied to dice and that an evade token could still be used on the remaining kaboom, assuming the dice matched in such a way as to leave only one kaboom left for the evade token to cancel. Is that not correct and if so where is that ruling?

It was clarified in the latest FAQ. Treat added results (such as from tokens) as additional dice results. It is under the autoblaster clarification IIRC.

To be fair, is isn't so much a clarification as it is a reversal. Ten Numb and Autoblaster used to allow evade tokens to work, but no longer do since the most recent FAQ.

Ok, I remember reading that on these forums before but I couldn't remember how that worked and Ten Numb's card only states defense dice. The real kicker isn't even the Autoblaster ruling (which applies to C-3P0 and would apply here), it is remembering that spending an evade token adds one evade result to the defense roll and therefore would count as dice results and thereby not be able to cancel one of Ten Numb's kaboom results.

PS: **** it, I knew this but I couldn't find/remember the chain of logic for a tournament I was running on Sunday. I owe some apologizes.
