Blatantly stealing dpb1298's idea (here), I'm calling all Armada players of the Portland metropolitan area to join a Facebook Group (Armada Admirals of Portland), to be ready for when the game hits the stores.

Beyond just playing the game, I'm interested in getting somewhat of a league campaign going, which would also integrate games of X-Wing (not as a break-out match, but as a separate way of influencing the outcome of a campaign of separate skirmishes).

I'm also looking to get support (gaming space, word-of-mouth, FFG kits, and moral support) from our FLGS's, and am already in consultation with one of them to make that happen.

Yeah, it will take a while. But at least this way there's already an infrastructure in place beforehand.

I was able to pimp it a little bit on the X-Wing Facebook Group page when I started it - and then I simply shang-hai'd some people to be able to create the group. That's given me eight members thus far. At some point, I'll probably ask those members to spread the word-of-mouth to others. Maybe when 'the boat' is halfway here or something.
